Nice links. :) 'Halo 2' is my most anticipated game at the moment. I am a huge fan of the original, I have no doubts the 2nd installation will be just as good if not better. :)

Halo 2 should be fantastic, and there's an awesome couple of hundred meg gameplay movie that no fan should miss.....somewhere on the net....go ask google.

Not much to be said here other than this game is looking fantastic and I trust the effort Bungie are putting in and the budget that Microsoft will back them with.

Halo simply wasn't enough for me. I finished it and immediately wanted much more. I can't wait to sink my teeth into this bad boy.

Say a Covenant Sniper and Battle Rifle were confirmed for Halo 2, how do you think they will be different from their human variants?

The Sniper Rifle bolt could travel slower - as opposed to the instant fire of the human weapon - but could kill in one or two shots. Or it could charge up like the plasma pistol, doing more damage depending on how cahrged it is.

As for the Battle Rifle, I have absolutely no idea.

I think the charged-up shot might be a good way. That would be keeping in tune with the plasma theme which most of the other Covenant weapons use.

I heard that the human pistol might not be in Halo 2. Apparently, the Battle Rifle might be a complete replacement for it. Don't know if it's true, but that would be bad considering the pistol was probably my favourite weapon in the game.

Otherwise, Halo 2 is my most anticipated game as well.

A covenant sniper rifle should have an instantaneous bullet (it would reach its target instantly) but take a few shots to kill, but also have rapid fire, at about the rate as the current plasma pistol.

And there already is a convenant style battle rifle, or so it seems to be. As seen in this pic.

Also, I don't think bungie would remove weapons from the original Halo, it seem more like a step backwards for me...

I am so excited for this game. Halo was the first Xbox game I played, and the first I completed.
It remains my favourite Xbox title, along side with Panzer Dragoon Orta. I can't wait.

All I know is that there is a whole platoon of new Watrhogs and other various vehicles. Also, you can pilot a Pelican at some stage in the game.

Actually I think it has been comfirmed by Bungie that the Pelican will NOT be pilotable, however it will have a damage model, meaning if it is hit it will take on damage and change its appearance to suit.

It's all good and well seeing the Multi-Player pics, but I'd really like some decent shots/vids from the Single-Player component. The only one I can find is in the form of the E3 Video on my copy of the... You guessed it, E3 DVD... :P Which is bloody amazing by the way. If I had a decent DVD Ripping Program at the moment I would happily send it to anyone interested (It was released on the net anyway wasn't it?), but alas I don't. :P

You know, Halo 2 could be the game that gets me to buy an xbox... <_<

Do you think the flood could destroy the single player mode? I think if there's less flood there's more fun. They get annoying, especially seeing as the end half of the original is plagued with their presence.

Is that the 165 meg single player movie, where the chief starts off in a city with casualties all around him, and by the end he's on an alien hover thingy and trying to outrun them?

It's a definite good read, explaining the concepts of dual-wielding weapons and use of plasma swords. It also seems that vehicles are now destructible (as opposed to the Warthogs and others in the first), along with some of the destructible environments.

It sounds so damn sweeeettttttt. :P

General

When reloading a weapon with non-empty magazines, a round is not chambered. This only occured with the Sniper Rifle and the shotgun in the original Halo: CE, but the BR seems to have this feature as well as presumably the SMGs.

Battle Rifle

*36-round magazine
*3-round burst (iron sights); single-fire (telescopic)

Submachine Gun

*60-round magazine

Rocket Launcher

*Held at an angle similar to the Marathon SPANKr
*Rockets have homing ability when scoped. The rocket launcher's sight turns red immediately being placed on an enemy. It only locks in the scoped mode.
*Cross Hairs now glow red when on target
*New, faster reload animation
*Same melee attack, doesn't appear to be combo-able

Plasma Sword

*Default Attack is a lunge
*Melee Attack is a melee attack that is fast and combo-able

Yeah, as much weapons as there are in the demo, we still expect more to come, like the Covenant Carbine. I can't wait to see that thing in action, I was kind of hoping they would have shown it at E3.

I just saw the new 10 minute multiplayer demo at the pre-E3 conference, and WOW! This game looks fudging awesome! Like I said earlier, this will probably be the game that gets me to buy and xbox. :D

i downloaded the multiplayer demo earlier today and damn it looks sweet, partialy destructable environments and fully destructable vehicles.
the elite sword looks wicked and i cant wait to give it a go, Wonder if its in single player (might be a bit too powerfull though)

the new capture the flag is so simple but sounds like heaps of fun, im suprised ive never seen that style of capture the flag b4.

halo 2 was always gonna be the game to get me into xbox live but i was begining to think even that wouldnt entice me away from my computer, but after seeing that vid im convinced im getting xbox live come its release.

Yeah that sure did look pretty spiffy, an interesting thing to note from those videos was that the gravity seemed to have remained the same from the original. I would have thought that the gravity would have been increased seeing as it’s now on earth.

The more I see of this game, the more I want it, and I wanted it pretty damn badly before all of this new info arose.

Some things I have noticed:

• Vehicles (so far only the ghost confirmed) can be boarded from the front and back with a different animations for each.
• The Spartan armour is fully customisable with a complete colour palette and badges at your disposal.
• Teams are now not only identifiable by colour, but also species.
• The needlers rate of fire and the speed of the bullet is much, much faster, and the bullets no longer arch as much as they did in the original.
• Machine gun turrets are available in multiplayer.
• The Ghost has a secondary function which is speed boost, which makes it go faster and either dramatically effects your accuracy or makes you unable to fire.

sorry but i cant do that for a couple reasons. 1 i got it from ign insider so you wouldnt be able to get to it and 2 that bit is actualy edited out of the vid for some reson that i cant remember caring about

as for what is it like, it was ok, lots of speaches about xbox live and a demo of the video chat and voice msg's
the xbox live arcade looks sweet.
apart from that it has a whole heap of trailers to games i dont give a stuff about, you get to see the guys doing the whole intro to the halo 2 mp demo so yeah max actualy was a person not a bot.

for the most part it wasnt really worth te long download and at an hour and a half im supprised i watched 90% of it.

although the way they present the halo 2 release date is a bit odd.

it was the XNA tech demo from b4 and it was redone now with 2 cars and it was quite cool.
