Title: GameCube in 2004
Description: Strong game lineup?

DJ-Civic - May 24, 2004 01:47 PM (GMT)
Time for another poll. ;)
Personally before E3 rolled around, I was thinking the Cube was going to have shitty year quite frankly. Most games announced were good, but imo not enough were announced or confirmed for '04.
Now we have Metroid Prime 2, Resident Evil 4, Paper Mario 2, Viewtiful Joe 2, Killer 7(hopefully) and more I'm probably forgetting.

So what do you guys think?

And it's interesting to note that most are sequels... is that good or bad?

I vote yes.

I told you that after MGS TS, I wasn't looking forward to any GCN games. Then you showed me the RE4 clip, and I changed my mind.

That was just one game, then E3 comes along, and all these games are either announced, or shown, and damn, does my Cube have a lot of life in it yet. :D

DJ-Civic, have any of those games been confirmed for release in '04? I'm looking forward to tonnes of game, especially Mario Tennis for some weird reason, but not in the next 4 months or so, which is why I voted "Nah, needs more games". 2005 should be a kick arse year, though...

I'm definately looking forward to gaming in general this year.

There are going to be some absoltely huge releases on all my favourite platforms (PC, Xbox & Cube), and I can't wait for any of them.

Just to let you know, all gaming, regardless of platform, will have to step aside once World of Warcraft comes out....oooh baby

Gaming in general this year is going to be really strong. There's so many titles I want. For GCN specifically, there's strong line-up, but it never hurts to have more great games. :)

I voted "not sure". Yeah there's a few games that certainly have this reporter pricking his ears, but the other console I own (PS2) has titles that outweigh anything Nintendo could pull (I am of course talking aboutGT4 and GTA: SA).

As far as GC is concerned, MP2: Echoes and Pikmin 2 are the games that I'll be buying.

Got a yes from me

I just divided amount of games I want by the cash I have and this tells me if theres enough new games coming out :D

Yes and no. :P

RE4 will come out this year.... in the states.(Freeloader should come in handy ;)) MP2 is planned for an '04 release. I read that in an interview with Mr iwata.
Paper Mario 2, Viewtiful Joe 2 I'm pretty sure are set for '04 as well. Killer 7 always has a question mark above it though.

Cheers.
No Mario 128 = Bring on Paper Mario!
Did Paper on the 64 have platforming bits, or what?

You lying cur!

04 release in America....06 release to our muddy shores.

To shame Civ!

Hmmz... It's a tough question. Pikmin 2 is a certainty, but if MP2, RE4, PM2, VJ2, -- and hopefully Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (plus the bongos) -- can make it to our shores by years end, 2004 will be a rockin' year for Cube! I'm pretty sure though, one or two of those titles will inevitably slip into 2005. And in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat's case, I'm just praying it gets an Oz release at all. Speaking of which, here's hoping the Power's That Be have the balls to release Baten Kaitos (Nov-Dec '04 I think for the US) and Tales of Symphonia (July '04 US) down here also -- or I may just have to get Freeloader afterall.

Next year should be an awesome one if only for the new Zelda.

After I purchased MGS TS, there wasn't much left on the horizon that I was really interested in, but after E3 04, things changed I now have at least 10 games that I am interested in, and will likely purchase 5-6 of them for sure!!

Looks like the cube is set to finish with some quality software.
