Ahh yes, the time is almost upon us again. The next instalment of the most purchased sports franchise of all time is right around the corner (August).

This is one of the few serious game franchises that really does get better each year. It's hard to believe they can continue to squeeze more and more into it with each outing.

IGN have recently thrown a couple of screens up on their site: IGN Madden Screens

EA do push a lot of crap out quickly to make a buck, but their Madden franchise is really an exception for those who have never experienced it. The only games that have come close are Sega's 2K(whatever) line. I guess huge amounts of money do pay off every now and then.

I'm completely amped about this game (if you couldn't already tell) and was wondering if there are any other Madden fans floating around this forum already?

Whilst I did own Madden NFL 2001, I have never really been a huge fan of NFL. Although I will commend EA for what they have done, the games, for what they are, are great. If only someone would do the same thing for an NRL or Soccer title. :(

I borrowed my mates copy of Madden 2004 a while ago and was hooked on Owners Mode -- it's a bloody game in itself! I was going to purchase it for myself soon after I had gave it back, but I figured I'd wait for '05 update, so Owners Mode better still be in tact!

As for the Xbox version being best, I dunno, as long EA stays exclusive to Sony's online network (though I've heard they may make an announcement at E3 regarding Xbox Live), the PS2 version will always be the superior game. I just hope to have broarband by the time the games out! =)

I never really got into the Madden games as such. I found that they were good for a while and then the novelty wore off for me.

Woops! I was originally going to post it in teh Xbox forum but changed my mind at the last minute. Didn't remember to take that line out. :P

I suspect they will have the Owner's Mode as they just add to what they had the year before... somehow.

I haven't bought it for a few years, I have Madden 2001 like Lordage, I think I might pick this up simply because of the online play. :)
