Title: Urgent Request: Who knows Cubeoid?
Description: Email: mordor_strider@hotmail.com
Moggo - May 22, 2004 02:33 PM (GMT)
This is going to seem very weird, but a guy who calls himself Cubeoid from the Gamecube.com.au forums managed to get into my Hotmail account, and promptly changed the password, etc. So about a year's worth of files are currently innaccessible to me... and this all came about, strangely, without any provocation. He just came on, told me, then left. I recognise the email, but not the person, so if anyone knows who this guy is, and I'm sure a few of you do, could you please get in touch with him, or at least give me a way or reaching him. He ignored my email.
This sounds very strange, and I'm sorry, but I'm pretty desperate.

Ah, I do know (the real) Cubeoid, and it's not him that's doing it.
No I'm not just defending him because he is a friend either, it is literally not him.
He himself has been hacked by someone from the forums you mentioned (port a cube or something like that I believe the name was), and yeah, that's probably what's happening to you. This guy who has hacked Cube's account, is claiming to be Cube, when he indeed isn't.
So yeah, now you know. :)

Without any provocation, eh? Call me crazy, but I don't believe you. :P
Anyhoo, I've been hacked once before too and I know how bloody annoying it is. I looked up the MSN profile of that email and there's some details listed that might help you recognize who he is.
Clicky!!If you haven't already, I'd go changing your passwords for other sites you frequent, that is if you reuse the same password on more than one site.

You don't believe me? Pfft, you're nice! <_< ;)
Right, well I nearly got done by the guy as well, as when I was talking to Cube today, Cube got kicked out of his own MSN account, and then this hacker guy started talking to me. So I'm assuming he was trying to hack my account too, as he flooded me with about 15 different convos.
As for changing of the password, already done, although he supposedly has a small program that hacks Hotmail accounts anyway, regardless of what the password is.
Don't ask me the full story, as I don't know it, but I do know that the Cubeoid I know, would never hack an account intentionally.

Oh good, although I assumed it was me. ;)
Least I have cleared it up though...

Is this likely to be the same guy who hit Hyper? Don't know how many people would go around hacking Aussie game sites and Hotmail accounts of the members.
Moggo, do you use that email account on these boards? If you do and you want it changed to something else, just let us know.
Sytadel - May 23, 2004 04:57 AM (GMT)
He didn't actually hack Moggo's account, Moggo was just stupid enough to let the answer to Hotmail's password question slip out.

...Somehow that comment doesn't give credibility to your defense of the guy.
Moggo - May 23, 2004 06:42 AM (GMT)
I pretty much have to accept that it's gone unless someone knows who this guy is and can find out what the new password is...any ideas? :S
MOD SAYS: Sorry Moggo, no talk of hacking please, regardless of how justified your intentions may be.
Inquisitor - May 23, 2004 09:20 AM (GMT)
How ironic that you call yourself "Professional Antagonist & Hyper Hacker
"and yet you yourself get hacked.

Why is that?
It seems plausable that Moggo's hacker has actually hacked another users account to frame this Cuboid person.

Well I don't know what else to say about the thing. I talk to the real Cubeoid regulary, and he seems like a decent chap. Of course, I've only talked to him online, so I don't know how he is in real life or whatever, but I'm sure there would have been a few hints or something, if Cubeoid intended to do it right?
Bah I don't know.
I'm just defending him, because of what I saw happened last night, during my conversation with him.

No no, i'm "questioning" the integrity of the "real" Cubeoid guy, and the use of the word "intentionally" means that he does hack ...uhh unintentionally.
*hack* "uhh oops, sorry"
*hack again* arghh crap, I hate when this happens.
;)
Moggo - May 24, 2004 02:57 AM (GMT)
Nismo, if there is any chance at all that it may be the Cubeoid guy, let us know, eh? ;)

Ah well that was probably my fault then, bad choice of wording perhaps? Sorry man.
Moggo, you'll be the first to know man.
Moggo - May 24, 2004 02:01 PM (GMT)
No matter anymore. I emailed Hotmail, and suprisingly, they sent a personal email back requesting some details which, if I complete, they'll email me a new password. :D
My faith in the Internet has suddenly risen. ;)

"I know the smoking-gun adds to the suspiscion of it all, but I swear I didn't shoot the guy!"
