According to GameStop and EB Games, your prayers may be answered much earlier than expected. Originally expected for a 2005 release, the newly unveiled Legend of Zelda title for the Nintendo GameCube may be releasing much sooner.
According to GameStop.com and EBGames, the new realistic addition to the series is estimated to have an October 18th, 2004 release.
Although this is currently an estimated release date, gamers can only hope that the insiders at the GameStop and EBGames' websites know more than they should.

A long shot but not an impossibility. The game seemed to be well in development and with some luck, we could have a new Zelda and Metroid Prime 2 for Xmas

If Nintendo can get "E3 Zelda" out by year's end - wow! :o It'll be a merry xmas indeed!

Highly doubt it. It was either Miyamoto or Aonuma that said in their E3 interview that they wanted to have the new Zelda playable for the first at next years E3 -- so it won't be released for at least another year. Christmas 2005 I suspect.
Patience is a virtue. Or something.
-- edit --
It was Eiji Aonuma that said it.
Q: How long has the game been in development, how far along is it, and why isn't it playable at E3 2004?
Aonuma: In terms of playable versions on the show floor, we're still not sure exactly how long it's going to take to complete the game at this point. But the plan is to by E3 next year have a version that you will be able to play to your heart's content. And in terms of how far along the game is, as I mentioned everything you saw in the movie yesterday is from a version that's running real-time playable on the engine. At this point we've got the engine running and everything's working and it's a matter of plugging in and putting in the finishing pieces.

Turns out he didn't actually say "playable for the first time", but still, it's a clear indication that it certainly won't be released this year and not until the second half of 2005. Here's hoping there's a nice steady flow of great Cube games to keep us busy. ;)

Second half next year, that's far to f*cking long

Unfortunatley, nothing - we just have to wait until Q3/4 2005 before we get another Zelda title <_<

I intend on going to Nintendo HQ and have a huge demonstration until they release the game!!
Any takers??
On a side note and hopefully Spag won't get too insulted, but maybe we should lock this thread and keep all Zelda related talk in the other thread??
