Rockstar Games Announces Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the Nintendo DS™

The newest entry in the Grand Theft Auto series for Nintendo's handheld system this winter

Well that wasn't expected! I wonder if they'll stick to a top down perspective because of hardware limitations or if they'll try and go for a basic 3D world. It will also be interesting to see if they model this 'modern day Liberty City' on GTA4, much like GTA:Advance was modelled on the GTA3 city.

We've come too far for top down games, I don't think at this point I'd buy this if it was top down. DS has about the graphics of the N64 (correct me if I'm wrong) and apparently there was supposed to be a GTA 64, which was canceled I believe. It will look amazing as long as you don't compare it to the PSP's GTAs.

Edit - yeah I know that R* will probably have something about the mafia and it won't be set exclusively in Chinatown, but the name alone will have parents raising pitchforks left right and centre.

You probably play a Triad guy who ends up going all over Liberty City during his adventures

It's amazing, I was just thinking the other day that the DS could really use a GTA game (Not like gta advanced, mind you) to really be perfect
