The rumour mill is in overdrive over Blizzard's latest picture mystery. User who visit http://www.blizzard.com are greeted with a big picture that looks like blue tiberium. Some people think that the picture resembles runes from Diablo 2. Kotaku have this picture :

Which clearly shows 2 of the runes from Diablo 2 in the shards of the thingy. Diablo 3 here we come? |
One of the runes also match a rune on Frostmourne.
Warcraft IV, Diablo III. I don't care as long they're not an MMO. :D ...Wishful thinking I know. :(
God Dammit i'm getting sick of MMOs. It just saddens me when such a great developer like Blizzard gets side tracked into the never ending time hole that is those damn games. :(

Diablo3 has been purchased as a domain name by Blizzard.
If Diablo 3 does come out I think it is a safe bet it will stick to the style of the previous games both online and offline.

Why does it look like Warcraft diablo instead of a sequel to Diablo 2?

Blizzard's art style is just now more apparent thanks to the higher res.
The environments look very Diablo to me and the characters have a much harder edge to them than Warcraft characters do.
In short I am Big Kev excited about the whole thing.

I'm personally more pumped for StarCraft 2 than Diablo 3, but that's not to say I'm not extremely pumped for both :P

Big Kev is dead though :P
Online Co-op will be so much fun, I remember way back playing the original diablo all night with a friend, one of my most fond gaming memories.
Did anybody actually beat D1 or D2 solo? Very challenging, especially 1.
D3/WoW Screenshot ComparisonD3 is more detailed, it's a polished up WoW and I don't mind that.

That's how big my excitement is, it may end up being lethal. :)
And bah to the screenshot comparison. Yes there are similarities in art style but Diablo is a much less cartoony style. I still don't get why people can't see this. *cry*

What Blizzard needs to do is release a hi-res patch for Diablo 1 & 2 (or at least 2) in order to keep us salivating until 2011 when Diablo 3 finally hits store shelves :D

It is amazing how many people on the PCPP forums have reinstalled Diablo 2 in light of this news.

D2 has always sat dormant on my shelf, and I've gone back into full diablo mode in anticipation of this. I'm sure that it's a long way away from release though, which makes me a little depressed.
BUt, after reading the fallout of art direction/"darkness", I really don't know why people are so worked up. There is no reason why the colour palette will detract from a foreboding atmosphere, and I applaud Blizzard for not sticking to the typical browns and greys synonymous with titles with a dark theme.
:D

I know I have.
This would make it the second time this year I've started a file, and just gotten up to Act 2, but then started again because the people I play with suck and think it's been too long between plays.
