Title: Code problems
Manny M - May 19, 2004 01:58 AM (GMT)
Just wanted to point out that highlighting a word and clicking a code button doesn't apply that effect around that word, much like it did in hyper.
Also, codes only get added at the very end of the page when the code buttons are clicked, not where your cursor is..which is another handy feature.

Ahh, the differences between Invision and phpBB. :)
At first I was annoyed by the way bold and italics have to be applied on these boards, but I've since got used to it and use a combination of the buttons/typing the tags in myself. If you want the tags to go in a specific area, it's a good idea to highlight that text, copy it, click the button of the tag you want to use, paste in your stuff and click OK. That's a rather quick way of formatting your post and have it end up where you want, not at the end.
I believe a few of these things are being changed as we speak for the next upgrade to Invision though.

Hang on, the highlighting thing works for me...
BrotherEstapol - May 21, 2004 07:22 AM (GMT)
Not with links and images it doesn't.
With Links and images it deletes anything you select, but any other text formatting works like normal.

Odd, if i highlight a word in the middle of a paragraph and click the "B" button, the bold tag goes at the end of the page...

Hmm, it doesn't do it for me. :eyebrow:
Once again Manny, you prove that you really do suck! :P

Oh shuttup Tim ;)
Ok, I may know why this is happening...i'm using Opera...
NismoR34 - May 22, 2004 10:09 AM (GMT)
Same happens for me, then again, I'm using Firefox, so maybe only IE users can do it.

I find
that it works ok for
me. Although the IMG button and the link button bring a box that asks you to type all the info (so you type the website in, and then the text for it) which I'd say is different and probably easier... but you can make your own mind up. I am using IE though.

It seems as though it's a non IE related issue...any way to correct the problem fellas?
I tell ya, there are so many good things about opera, yet there are the few niggles which keep it from being perfect....maybe this should go in the bitch thread :D

Indeed Manny M, but as we both know the pros far outweigh the cons. ;) Have you gotten version 7.5 yet? They've completely redesigned the hotlist, and the GUI in general is so malleable it's not funny. :)

You piqued my interest in the latest version Trin, and maybe it's simply because it's so different but I'm not sure I like the new GUI. :/

Hm, you make me wanna check it out again.
Wanna add me to MSN, and "convince" me to get it? I've tried it out before, but it got deleted, and I was too lazy to get it again. I currently use Firefox, so tell us the difference too, if you've used Firefox.

New version!! I'm using 7.23...i'll have to check it out.
***EDIT***
I've upgraded to 7.5. Much better interface, much smaller and neater (once that bar on the left is outta the way). Also love how you can throw some webpages in the top toolbar as one click links.
..still doesn't work with the problem I spoke about earlier in the thread.
