Title: General Adventure Pics Thread
Description: With pics!

Inquisitor - May 9, 2008 01:58 AM (GMT)
I was gunna post this in the anti-bitch thread, but I've got some sweet pics, so I thought I'd make a topic.

Had a nice day yesterday - got up at 3.30am to go fishing with some mates at Port Douglas. That's about an hours drive north of where I live. Some great scenery up there, so I took some pics on my phone. Check it.

Awesome, it looks like a great spot. Catch many? I went fishing a few weeks back and everyone caught one except me! :(

Inquisitor - May 9, 2008 02:08 AM (GMT)
We didn't catch anything big (had alot of massive hits, but they all piked), but we caught quite a few travali and fingermarks and such. Pretty disappointing, but still a good day out.

I should take photos of my adventures.
Today I took a friend to work, picked him up from work afterwards, went to EB, and did stuff explained in the buys thread, then came home and gamed :)

I'm sure you'd all love pics of that! ;D

On a more on-topic note, that definitely does look like a nice spot.

Good photos Ink, would've expected some pictures of fish though for a fishing trip :P

I went into the city the other day with a friend, we didn't do too much. We had to drop his car off at a dealer to get it fixed and we just walked around Perth, doing window shopping. Didn't start taking shots until the final 30min of the trip so here are the photos I made using my mobile. Fairly uninteresting :P

Definitely a thread terrorist.

Well we might as well just make this a general adventure pics thread...
Unless of course you have MORE pictures to add from your adventures Ink? :o

Also, I see what you did there ;D

Renamed title since I'm a thread terrorist :P

Today I came back from my 2 day trip down to Margaret River (my hometown). Went down via the coachline bus which took 5 hours (left at 1.30pm arrived at 6.30pm) - we didn't have to change buses or anything but we had to stop for a 15min break in Bunbury and then for some reason it took 10min just to change bus drivers in Busselton. During the drive I played my PSP till it ran out of batteries and went to my friends house. Then I took the bus back up to Perth which left at 7am and arrived at 11am, a tad quicker and thankfully I didn't have to share my seat with anybody

Before I went home though I remembered about the Go3 expo which was only about 100m away from where I emerged from so I had a quick look there for about 20min and snapped some photos, had a browse at the Madman & Gametraders booth. Hard to find anything, it wasn't even midday and there were people hogging the tables so I couldn't exactly do much browsing unless I knew what I wanted without even looking at it. I saw some booth babes but I didn't snap any photos of them, I was pretty exhausted tbh and I was worried about someone stealing my backpack from the bus terminal (I left it with the coachline bookers but it was in plain view & easy to access for any potential stealer) so I left quickly

Umm...yeah, photos! With my dodgy camera phone again + shaky hands

Bus trip down south - the further I went, the worse the weather got

Go3 Expo - much more alive than last year. There was people everywhere! A playable Midnight Club - Los Angeles received a lot of attention. I think there was about 3-4 demo units

LAN, just like at home but with more people watching and you have Alienware cases to make yourself feel rich when you don't actually own them!

There was some other stuff, I saw some cosplayers too, one guy was a perfect match of 'L' from Death Note (anime) and there was another guy dressed up as Cid from Final Fantasy 7. Not bad at all....shame I couldn't stick around and play some demos

I suppose this classifies as an adventure - went up to Mt Cootha on the weekend to take some shots of the city. Click the pic to go to its flickr page where there's a bigger version if you want.

D43M0N: upload your Splendour pics, you lazy bum! (EDIT: good boy.)

Are you serious?!
It was boring as hell this year. Last year i stayed for a few hours, at this year's I stayed for 15 minutes, found people, and then went to a movie.
Oh, and then i came back, raped up Rock Band (my god it's easy compared to GH3) and then left again.
Then I went to Laser tag with the Vooks Perth crew.

I'd upload pics, but haven't got them with me :(

I didn't go to last year's so I read about it instead and assumed there was more people. It was pretty packed when I went, I only stayed for 30min though before leaving

Went to Riverfire tonight. Waited for like 3 hours and then realised that I'd chosen a spot where there was a pole in the way (I didn't know where the fireworks were coming from!)

Still, I got some decent shots. I got a lot of shots that would have been awesome if there wasn't a pole in the way. So all the good ones have the fireworks on the right side of the image... Anyway, I know how to locate or not locate a good spot now for next time.

Here's a few of the shots that turned out pretty well.

That last one looks awesome :D Its like Iron Man was flying past the city at night. The first one is pretty sweet too in large format

D43M0N - August 30, 2008 03:27 PM (GMT)
I've been looking at them more and more and realize how awesomely they work as desktop images because, well, they're right orientated and all my icons are on the left :D

/backslash - August 30, 2008 03:42 PM (GMT)
They should've been taken at 1680x1050 resolution :( Its too pixelated when its englarged and its too empty at original size. You have an awesome camera dave, take advantage of it! :P

dave_cool31 - August 31, 2008 03:14 AM (GMT)
They were taken at 3872x2592, Slashy! :P

I just resized them for the upload. Hit me up if you want any particular ones in any particular resolution. I've resized a couple to 1920x1200 for my desktop.

Which ones do you want in 1680x1050? I'll resize and upload for you. Also, that second to last one I cropped because the left half of it was all black so if you want it resized I can give you a widescreen version of it but it will just have most of the fireworks on the right. In fact, it's my desktop right now.

Hmm, gimmie 1, 5 & 6 :) I just want to see the amount of detail for the other 2

Here you go, slashy, just for you.

Handily, I'd already resized this one to 1920x1200.
