To stop a whole bunch of individual GTA4 threads, this is the post-release discussion place. Yes it's cool and new and exciting that members can add to the front page, but to stop a flood of biblical proportions, this is where all your hastily typed out comments and flood of words and possibly a tiny bit of pee should be put.

Less than 6 hours until midnight launches, is anyone going? I think I might go to my local and take some pics, but I'll probably fall asleep :P

I'm not going to a midnight launch, but my boss is letting shoot into town at 9am to pick up the game just in case EB decide to be dodgy and start selling off pre-order stock.

Then I'll just have a gruelling 8 hour wait until I can play it (I plan on knocking myself unconcious for 7 hours)

How do you time things like that? Have you tried it before?

I'm not going to the midnight launch because I'm importing but my order is still up in the air atm :(

Good idea man, this game is gonna be gigantic. Getting it sometime this week hopefully, still hasn't shipped which is getting me worried. :(

That's great. Not that it's such a big deal, but I hate it when they censor gameplay elements. A cinematic I can handle. :)

I'm kind of appalled by the whole high level violence, sexuality and language business, but my brother's buying the game, so I'll probably give it a go just to see what all the fuss is about... I was quite surprised and impressed with all the crazy reviews, like a 10 from IGN US and UK. Unrelatedly, I think the IGN AU team are stupid. They said they didn't give it a perfect 10 because they think the next game's going to have fighter jets and space shuttles. And additionally, they say other similarly stupid things in many of their other reviews/articles.

If this is a reason for docking points from a present product, then that is truly poor form.

Unfortunately, I'm one of the chorus of PC owners who cry themselves to sleep at night because I can't play GTA4 yet.

At least you aren't just singling out the sexual content. I never have understood the logic behind putting the act of procreation above violence for things to get outraged about. It speaks volumes about our society, doesn't it?

Well from the videos you can see a hooker clearly bouncing up and down on Niko in the front of his car, but apparently in the Aussie version the view is locked to behind the car. Also we can't choose the 'level' of service.

Not such a big deal (I'll just lol at it on youtube), doesn't break the game but it's still slightly annoying that I get treated like a child.


Anyway HAPPY GTA4 DAY EVERYONE! I'll be heading in to pick it up soon... then sit at work for 8 hours :(

Definately deserves the score, I guess Edge will be the deciding factor on whether or not it exceeds OoT.

Goddamn, I'm so torn. I have the opportunity to buy GTAIV tomorrow, or leave it until June 12th as a reward for finishing exams. The decision is horrible. :(

Buy the game tomorrow, then try to control yourself and leave it in shrinkwrap until June 12th

*30 seconds after purchasing the game there's traces of shrinkwrap found around Decman's house*

Decman: "I'm just making sure the game works properly! Can I kill this guy? Yes I can, okay now lets try to steal a car, I want to make sure there's no problems with the disc so I'm attempting everything possible including the story mode and the side missions"

I'm sick today, so am not at work, so I've been playing the game for the past couple' hours - it seems pretty cool so far... Despite the violence, language, drug and sexual references :P

This game freakin rocks. I wanna go home and play it now.

Still getting used to the realism of everything, the running and driving seems so much slower now they've made it more realistic.
Also the controls are different which takes some getting used to.

Online is amazingly fun too.

:lol: Hahahahah, man, that would so be the case. Unfortunately, I've bowed to the will of my Good conscience, and won't be fondling the shrink-wrap until June 12th. It's bloody horrible, I know. One of my friends is doing the same thing. I was round at his yesterday, and we had a good blast at San Andreas, our rampages occasionally interrupted with, 'oh shit, I bet this will be so much cooler in GTA IV!' and, 'ahh, it's not so bad, only 5 weeks....*breaks down in tears*'. :P

You see, if I was to buy it now, I'd never do any revision or study, regardless of whether I played it or not. Getting hold of it and not playing it would be the most horrific form of psychological torture. :o

So guys, is this game God?

I heard PS3 versions of GTA4 were locking up and freezing quite often, is there any truth to this?

Allegedly but I don't know of any people first hand who have had the problem.

Not that it worries me, I went 360.

Anyway this game is amazing as anyone currently playing it will know. Awesome single player. Awesome multiplayer. Just awesome all round really. :)

It is very awesome indeed, probably my favourite GTA staring character as well :)
