Saturday 23-Apr-2008 - See Batman and Scorpion going at it! Check out Batman punching the crap out of Scorpion in the first ever trailer of Midway's new nostril smasher: Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.
As you will have heard, thanks to dodgy internet leaks, the new MK game will star the caped crusader and other characters from the DC universe, including Superman, as part of a radical reinvention of the series.
Looking at the trailer to the right, the first thing you'll notice is a darker, more sinister look for the game as Batman and Scorpion kick off in a graveyard area.
You also get a sneak peak at one of the games biggest new features - Freefall Kombat. This new mechanic sees the fighters going at it while falling through the air to a lower level in the environment. Looks pretty cool.
The single player mode will feature an intertwined storyline penned collaboratively by the MK team and "top comic scribes Jimmy Palmiotti (Painkiller Jane, Marvel Nights, Jonah Hex, 21 Down) and Justin Gray (Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, JLA Classified, Punisher Red X-Mas, The Resistance)".
You choose which side to team with and fight through a series if plot-led battles. "In order to save all they know, the heroes and villains of Mortal Kombat must wage war against the combined might of the DC Universe (DCU)," reads the official release.
Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon also confirmed to CVG that the new game will feature online gameplay at Midway's Gamer's Day even in Las Vegas. Look out for the revealing interview on the site shortly.
The game is set for 360 and PS3 out this autumn.

CVG________________________________________Okay it's kinda old now...I hope that's cool. My first news post FTW! :D Personally I think MK vs DC is going to be horribly unbalanced because half the cast will have an easy infinite and the other half will have a slightly more difficult one.
Just like every 3D MK after MK4, unfortunately this game wont have blood and guts to attract people with, just a bad fighting game.
