Four reviews including the Hori Component cable TV output, Hori Protection Filter Portable, New Style PSP Slim Pouch and Battery Pack.

Name: Hori Component cable TV output PSP Slim - US$19.90
Console: PSP Slim
Type: Cables
Comments: Excellent product. Basically for US$10 less it's exactly the same as the Sony component cables and its got the added advantage of an extra 1m length of cable (3.5 vs 2.5) so you can actually play this on the couch (if its within the area). Upon connection the PSP asks you whether or not you want the screen projected on the tv, then the PSP screen & speakers are automatically turned off during play. Image is nice and crisp (not crystal clear, but what you'd expect), ghosting issues aren't a worry anymore and yes your PSP will only use 50% of your screen. I tried using the zoom button on my tv but that only stretched it vertically (those darn zoom buttons never do anything right!)

I managed to get this during Play Asia's sale for US$11.92, now its US$19.90.

5/5

Name: Hori Protection Filter Portable - US$7.99
Console: PSP Slim
Type: Screen protectors
Comment: This one's a bit deceiving, at first I thought it was a normal screen protector but it actually came with additional protectors for the DPad+nub+buttons layout (see photo below) to prevent further scratching. A nice idea, I haven't yet applied them myself but one would assume it'd be harder to hold (plastic on top of more plastic?). Still, an excellent price for a hidden extra

5/5

Name: New Style PSP Slim Pouch (Monotone) - US$19.90
Type: Soft Pouch
Comment: It's typically girly and the limited arrange of colour styles is annoying. The outer surface is in fact plastic making it look more like a toothbrush+toothpaste bag

If you're a guy, get the monotone colour. This is also about the only decent PSP slim case on the market too in terms of protection & additional pockets for UMDs/cables so you'll have to sarcrifice style for peace of mind. One would complain that soft pouches don't protect from high falls though

4/5

I like this idea, but why handheld accessories only? Couldn't we have it for any platform?

I suppose. I didn't think there are many accessories for consoles though - oh wait, the Wii! I'll shift this into general gaming

PSP PlayStation Portable Battery Pack (2200mAh) (White) - US$54.90 Play-Asia

I bought this for my PSP Slim and was hoping they'd made some new revolutionary battery pack that was slim enough to fit in the same amount of space. This is not the product. In fact I'm pretty sure it's the same PSP battery pack from the Phat model and was shipped with a free cover. The power output is 2200mAh compared to the PSP Slim's 1200mAh. This is an increase of 80% more play which will come in handy when playing games that last for house like RPGs. The additional weight output however is a little annoying and since its bigger than the original battery, it sticks out the back a little. As a bonus though the new battery cover adds a bit more grip (depending how you hold it I always have one finger on each side supporting it) so it'll have less chance of slipping out of your hands (sometimes with sweaty palms I get worried that it could happen)

You can buy these PSP 2200 battery packs shipped with other battery covers too however limited to black, white & ice silver. Luckily though you can buy battery covers (designed for larger batteries) by itself for only US$0.99 coming in colours silver, white, black, fire red, grape purple, sky blue, rose pink and sea blue

For a rating I'd give this product a 3.5/5

Whilst it does its job for longer play, it adds additional weight & size, kills some of the style and sits awkwardly. Some photos:

That's exactly why I haven't got that bigger battery.
It just looks and feels so out of place.

Cool reviews. :) I know that the PSP Light can play games on TV but is there no way what so ever to get my PSP to play on my TV?

There's also another similar product called R4 PSPonTV. Both products are out of stock on Play-Asia but you might be able to track them on ebay. Considering you'd still have to try and use the control pad with that thing on I doubt you'll want to even bother using it
