Title: Show us some art
Rhinokorous - May 18, 2004 10:41 AM (GMT)
Hey everyone, I just wanted to show off my art to you guys and I thought that it might be a good idea for a thread. So quite frankly all you do is post your art here tell everyone what its about and others can give you a score out of ten. Is that cool?
I'll go first...
My first image is of NiGHTS it's a lead pencil shading one not using anything else but HB
http://img65.photobucket.com/albums/v199/DemiDevil/ni1.jpgMy second picture is of Final Fantasy CC and is mainly the team my friends and I put together receiving letters
http://img65.photobucket.com/albums/v199/DemiDevil/cc2.jpgNow tell me what you guys think and rate them.
The ghost who walks - May 19, 2004 08:54 AM (GMT)
awesome! i'd give the nights one 9.5/10 and the ff:cc 8/10.
TrinityJayOne - May 19, 2004 09:32 AM (GMT)
Love the Nights one! Was the image taken from a book or something or is it your own?
Dude - May 19, 2004 10:25 AM (GMT)
They are really great. Especially the Nights one.
Keep up the good work!
Cerebral - May 19, 2004 12:01 PM (GMT)
Wow! Yuo are teh skill.
As for art of mine own. I scanned a few silouhettes and doodled around in Photoshop for a while.
Check my
Deviantart Page for my 3 works!
<_<...I really should get more done.
DJ-Civic - May 19, 2004 12:29 PM (GMT)
Rhinokorous, very nice drawings. :D Now the first one needs some colour. ;)
Here's my latest offering;
Paper Mario 2 Art.It's still isn't finished. Hopfully I'll add a background to it. I used Illustrator for the main work and Photoshop to do some slight shading. :)
SMIThouse - May 19, 2004 12:37 PM (GMT)
I need to get a scanner, as I do all my best work on paper. or my hand, but that hand tattoo can never be re-created.....*rambles

Fair effort, Civ.
It almost looks in-game, if the blur on the hammer wasn't so defined. :P Top stuff.
Say, what happened to Boxarts? Are they passé all of a sudden? <_<
darklord - May 19, 2004 07:32 PM (GMT)

A friend asked for me to do something on one of his schoolbooks. I was so proud of the result that I thought I'd post it here.

I've always been a massive fan of your work Mach.
What ended up happening with that painting of Sephiroth that was claimed as a Squaresoft original?
I loved that piece, by the way.
_MetalliX_ - May 20, 2004 07:44 AM (GMT)
markymark: I really like your style, its very professional, you get a big thumbsup from me!

Hey, i wanted that motion blur on the hammer. :P But thanks anyway. :D It did turn out nice in the end.
As for box-arts - we should make a thread for it.
And top work Mach and markymark. Very nice stuff.
Wardie, try to colour your drawings digitally. It looks much better. ;)
Iroquois - May 20, 2004 08:08 AM (GMT)
I'll keep that in mind. And the name is Iroquois (or, if you can't be stuffed spelling that, try Iroq for short)
The ghost who walks - May 20, 2004 08:15 AM (GMT)
nice try iroquois i'd give it a 6 , i think you need a little more practise though...(coming from a person who can't draw for his life)
_MetalliX_ - May 20, 2004 09:43 AM (GMT)

Cheers man, thanks for the kind words. In the end I couldn't really do anything about it due to Sold.com.au shutting down, a shame really. Anyway, i'm thinking about painting a bigger and better Sephiroth piece - won't be for a while, but it's definate possibility. :)
denno - May 20, 2004 10:29 AM (GMT)

I prefer to wear my art on my skin. this was taken about 20 minutes after my last visit.
PS. thats not snot on my back. its leftover ink and moisturiser.

Damn you're a good painter. I love artists who don't think modern art is just in sketches, and diversify their type of art.

Just awesome!
And Marky, you know I think your stuff is the bomb. Post your Metroid Prime one dammit!!
markymark - May 21, 2004 02:13 AM (GMT)
metallix: thanks mate, you're always been so kind to me. i'll have to draw you a pic one day.

Manny M - May 21, 2004 02:49 AM (GMT)

I think it looks fantastic, but the orientation of the facial features makes it look awkward.

And that's exactly why I don't like it :P The face really does look awkward, provided some extra time, I could probably fix it. But I'd rather learn from experience instead of re-editing all my old work to stand up against my latest additions. It's what you'd call an evolution :cheese:
(that's the most cheesiest phrase ever)
OldSkOoL - May 21, 2004 02:41 PM (GMT)
Yeh I used to draw almost as good as my sister (Rhino) back in the day. Then I got over it and she kept going. Bah it could be me getting all the praise.
Übermensch - May 21, 2004 03:23 PM (GMT)
Those are fucking amazing pieces, Mach. Your work blows me away, man.

I'm curious as to how you went about doing something like that.
Did you sketch it first, then scan it into your PC and finish it up with an editing software of sorts?
