Title: Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles

So I just finished watching the premier of the Sarah Connor Chronicles, and I thought it was pretty rad. Mostly the combination of robots and Summer Glau make for awesome viewing. I've only now realised just how flippin' hot Summer Glau is. I may have to watch the Firefly series again.
Also, robots.
Thoughts?

I really enjoyed the pilot, but I'm curious how they are going to change it in light of the school shooting stuff at the beginning. Which is a shame, because I thought that was actually handled pretty well and was a powerful setting to kick off the show.

I need to watch this, I've got the first 6-7 eps sitting around here somewhere.

Not a bad pilot, as long as I keep my plausibility meter in check. I'm concerned about how the plotlines can sustain a weekly TV show rigor. Only time will answer that question, though.

I really like the show.
I've seen up to Episode 5 and it really digs into the Terminator mythology. I was worried that every episode would be "Oh noes a Terminator is coming to kill John, quick run!" but they offer a lot more variety than that.
You kind of have to leave your brain at the door though, because if you're a Terminator geek like me then you know that T2 was set in 1995, yet the show seems to think it was in 1997 (which stupidly enough was the year of the original Judgement Day) and according to T3 Sarah was meant to die of cancer in 97 but there she is alive and well in 1999!
It's meant to overwrite T3 anyway (the official line is that it occurred in an alternate timeline) but if you ignore all the inconsistencies with dates etc it's quite a good show.
Summer Glau is looking smokin too. Adult John knew what he was doing when he sent the hot terminator back to his 15 year old self

I'm a huge Terminator fan I find the show simply boring; and I was looking forward to it as well. I can accept minor plotholes because I don't expect perfection and wanted to watch this show for entertainment, pure and simple, but I keep finding myself dozing off every time I watch it. I will continue to watch because as I said, I'm a fan but so far I'm disappointed.

I loved the first episode and can't wait to see more. I don't really mind that it kind of overwrites T3 because I didn't like the story for that movie anyway.

why do you always have to have the opposite opinion to everybody else? :P
Also, I never really paid that much attention to the chronology of the movies, so I'm not really phased by the plotholes... I can accept the whole alternate universe thing, as long as there are still robots and Summer Glau and also Summer Glau robots.

I am having mixed feelings about this.
On the one hand, this show has potential.
On the other, it almost seems that whoever is writing/creating the show just wrote down "cool things" from the 3 movies onto notecards, and randomly selected things from 'em to put into the show. All of the elements are there, but IMHO nothing is really new and the execution of a lot of this is as soulless as the terminators...
The show is trying though...

What's wrong with that? Furthermore, the addition of Summer Glau is another layer of coolness. However, it's probably too early in the series to judge it, really...

I tried to watch it last week and couldn't keep my attention span in long enough before I started doing something else. This is why I rarely watch 1 hour long tv shows unless its Mythbusters
Good enough excuse to buy it on DVD instead I suppose, like the X-Files

i for one am quite enjoying it, especially as it provokes lots of discussion about the 'canon' of the show. main case in point, my brother thinks that there should have just been a bunch of t-1000's sent back, whereas i justify a reason on WHY there's no t-1000's; because skynet will be started at a different time, and by a different person, the future development tree doesn't venture down the 'liquid metal' path (well at least not yet in the series)

I think it's butchering the original two films. Cameron wanted to leave the story at the 2nd film and he didn't have anything to do with the 3rd.
Stop messing this up, please...

Just got around to watching watching this. Not bad at all. Best viewed in the context of the films in a "what if" scenario, but thoroughly entertaining. :)

It makes you wonder why the Terminators just didn't go back in time and destroyed the entire Human Race there, or even just killed Sarah Connor's Parents...

but then the resistance fighters would send a good robot back to stop them!! I think the universe just folded in on itself.
EDIT: just watched the last episode of season one - I didn't realise that there were only 9 episodes in the first season until I went to download the next one - now I have an agonising wait! : :(
This is one of my favourite shows on at the moment, admittedly Summer Glau does make it even more awesome, she's such a brilliant actor and also gorgeous, but all of the other factors combine to make this show generally awesome imo.
