Title: Need A New GPU

Resident-Seven - February 11, 2008 10:00 AM (GMT)
Ok, I've got a dell in my room, and the GPU (if you can call it that) is marked as a "Intel® 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family". So I want to upgrade, but at the same time I'm cheap and don't want to spend much.

The main thing I need is for it too have DVI out, because at the moment I have to keep switching the PC and 360 back and forth for the VGA input on the monitor. But there is a free DVI-D input. It'd be nice to be able to play "some" recent games too.

I was looking at this one http://www.shopbot.com.au/p-89522.html and was wondering what kind of performance it would give in comparison to the thing that's currently in my pc. Not to mention, if it'll even fit in the case.

So, opinions?

Thanks

What's your budget?
Pretty much the best cost/performance card out at the moment is the 8800GT.

But that 8600GT would typically beat the hell out of a standard Intel graphics thing.

Well, I definitely want to stay under $200.

My brothers pc is the one with the dual 7800GTXs, so I'm gonna wait to get something "really" powerful in mine. I've only got a P4 3.2Ghz CPU, and 1GB of RAM anyway.
