After quite a difficult setting up process in getting this episode running, we finally have it available for your listening pleasure! Angra was scheduled to join us for this episode but unfortunately due to technical difficulties this was not to be the case. So that leaves you the Evolution Podcast ‘veterans’ borgster101 and /backslash as they discuss the major games of the holiday season, as well as get into a couple of the latest news items of the gaming industry! And who knows, perhaps our special guest was able to resolve the technical problems and jump in for a few quick words! You’ll have to listen to the episode to find out!

There's a couple of 'issues' with this latest episode, as we explain at the start we had a few technical problems, so we've tried to get the most out of what we had, to give you guys a new episode, since it has been too long!

Geez, there's so much echo in my voice voice voice voice! That's a Powergramo recording problem as I had nothing like that with my recording device.

:lol: I like the bloopers "those are boobs"!

I think the echo is because you were recording the other way with your speakers close to the mic, and PowerGramo picked it up, but ah well, it took us long enough to get this up! Though your voice can still be understood perfectly fine, also it makes you sound more authorative! "I AM AN ADMIN FEAR ME me me"! :P

Also there was some rough cuts in the Mass Effect conversation since things came out a bit crappy for some reason, but the bulk of the talk is there!

And yes, I was hoping the bloopers (and "plot twist") would make up for any of these issues :P <_<

Oh yeah and make sure you continue to listen after the final music! :whistling:

Edit One other thing, don't forget to update that box thingy in the Portal page slashy :)

I got 2 minutes of the thing downloaded, but, as usual, the download cut out. :angry: Still sounds great though! Got as far as slashy talking about his PS3. :P

Damn Dec, you really need broadband. Maybe you could get GetRight or something that saves the download when it cuts out? I remember I used to use something like that when I had dial up.

I was going to suggest that, it's the only thing you can do decman.

Edit: Okay I'm listening to it now so I guess I'll say stuff in here as I go along.

1. Slashy, no mention of Ratchet and Clank in your top 5? I'm not really a fan of the franchise myself but I'm surprised a bit that it wasn't mentioned (even if you're not a fan either). Unless you just forgot about it?

2. Props on using game music that's relevant to the games being discussed. Whoever came up with that idea (*cough*) is a legend. ;) Also Borg: I haven't heard MP3 music yet (probably won't for a while yet either so where'd you get it? ;)) but as soon as it came on I knew where it was from. Metroid certainly has a 'style' about its music.

3. 5/5 for the mentions. Can we hit 6? ;)

4. Agreed that BioShock and Mass Effect are the 360's best. Granted, I haven't played the latter yet, but I know I'm gonna love it almost as much as BioShock.

5. The show name you were after Slashy is The Apprentice.

Indeed, Metroid does have a certain style that makes its music easily identifiable.

That was tops guys, thought you covered all the latest news quite well. It would have obviously been better with three but I enjoyed it nonetheless. :)

Nice podcast. You guys need some sort of jingle at the start. I fixed the echo problem all you gotta do is listen to the podcast on a train. I totally agree with your views on assassins creed. Only touched the game a couple of times since i've bought it. Any chance of incorporating any anime news or reviews in your podcast ?

Have you guys spoken about cod4 in your podcasts .. I'm trying to decide if I should purchase Mass Effect or COD4. I hate how MS won't allow you to install your own hard drive on the 360 .. with the size of the demos and videos the HD quickly fills up .

Yes a jingle of some sort would be a nice way to start, I've thought about something like that actually. As for anime news or reviews in future Podcasts I suppose thats possible, I'm not the biggest anime fan personally so I wouldn't really know what to talk about, though I think backslash knows a fair bit about that stuff .. so who knows, an interesting idea :)

As for COD4, I don't think we've talked about it in other podcasts, there's so many games to cover! Though I'm sure some of our members have the game, so you can always ask for opinions in the 360 thread in Console Central :thumbsup: I have both COD4 and Mass Effect, and to choose between the two, well it depends on what you want, Mass Effect is an epic RPG, with excellent production values and story. COD4 is a suberb FPS in both single and multiplayer, if you're looking at single player only, Mass Effect probably gives you more value.

Yeah I enjoy anime but I'm not so up to date nowadays unless its 'Bleach' :P Or unless there's a decent anime movie coming out, still I could attempt it in our next podcast

COD4 I've never played, not a big fan on the FPS genre and never played any of its previous games so I wouldn't know where to start!

And as for the intro music, I think I've found something we could use - I wonder if it's the same idea borgster has?

I own all the Studio Ghibli movies :D Except for 3 which I can do without (one movie I don't want to watch more than twice is Grave of the Fireflies simply because its too sad to watch)

I wouldn't say Tales from Earthsea is awesome, in fact it fails in a number of areas - but I still bought it on DVD. I'll avoid saying any spoilers for now and save it

I own Grave of the Fireflies, simply because it's among the greatest films I have ever seen.

I don't often allow film to tap into emotion, but yeah, this is the one film that could and has.

I didn't really have any specific ideas, though I think I might know what you're thinking . ... maybe .. :P

How long till your next podcast ?

About another 3 weeks I reckon, hopefully Mach will get his ass into gear so we can have a 'perfect recording' and register PowerGramo - c'mon Mach, where are ya?! :fight:

I'm currently capped on dialup speed anyway until then so I doubt the date will change
