Title: Poll of the Week 21
Machiavelli - November 28, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
Rarely. And on the odd occasion I do, It's usually only a drink or two. I'm a bit of a clean-freak and eating whilst gaming = mess. Also, nothing irritates me more than being passed a sweaty controller covered in cheetos during a multiplayer session.

If there are friends over and the Xbox/PC is in a area that isn't my bedroom (and therefore not susceptible to having ants in my sleeping area) I'll do it, and I have had a few drinks around my PC, as well as drinking V on my 360 during the end of exam block.
borgster101 - November 28, 2007 03:26 AM (GMT)
NEVER!
Food and gaming don't mix at all! Also these days playing the Wii and 360 with their white controllers, you really don't want to be playing with food around ...
Random Hero - November 28, 2007 03:30 AM (GMT)
Pretty much all the time, I can't be bothered wasting time eating at a table when I come home from school or wherever. I grab some food and power up my console immediately! :D

Same here. If I ever have anything it'll just be a drink or maybe some icecream in a bowl. I'm very conscious about getting dirty hands and using it on a clean controller - my friends however hardly ever wash their hands (unless they go to the toilet which I should be thankful for)
Now that I've got a white PS3 its much easier to notice who has the grubby hands :P
Ninja Catfish - November 28, 2007 12:58 PM (GMT)
Hardly ever.
Maybe while at my PC in general, but not while gaming where I don't have the time to wipe my hands before they go to my mouse/keyboard.
And definitely not while console gaming, at least not on my console.
I absolutely can't stand greasy controllers.
NismoR34 - November 28, 2007 05:13 PM (GMT)
I don't eat while I'm gaming much at all and if I do, it'll generally be stuff that won't dirty your hands (so dinner with utensils for example, or a chocolate bar that I can hold within its wrapper). I drink all the time so yes, I drink with my console/s all the time but obviously I take care not to spill them because I try my hardest to look after my gaming stuff.
Having said that though, regardless of how clean you try to be around the 360 controller it is still very easy for it to get dirty. I clean it every second day...
Stevorooni - November 29, 2007 02:49 AM (GMT)
Not usually. If I'm snacking while gaming I'll usually pause, eat, wash hands then unpause.
But I usually have a drink sitting on the coffee table.
FreakTrigger - November 29, 2007 03:33 AM (GMT)
I do a bit - videogames are my downtime, so a snack and a beer while I play is a great accompaniment.
That said, it's usually something quite clean - a glassed beer and a sandwich or something. I can't abide cheeto's fingers on my mouse!
Robert - November 29, 2007 05:00 AM (GMT)
Never ever. Way to afraid i'll spill or drop some of it on a controller or *gasp* console. Screw that, to risky.

Cubeoid - November 29, 2007 12:38 PM (GMT)
I never really used to much but now I often have a drink nearby and a snack. Though it's never anything messy. I too hate getting greasy crap all over my controllers. That won't stop me from enjoying a good drink or snack with my gaming though. :P
Gingejaks - November 30, 2007 07:29 PM (GMT)
i would eat but depends how good the game im playing is >.< so sometimes yes sometimes no
DJ-Civic - December 1, 2007 03:59 PM (GMT)
I'll usually pause or end the game and then eat in my room quickly so I can get back into it.
But no I don't eat while playing - too messy.
NismoR34 - December 1, 2007 05:01 PM (GMT)
^ He eats chocolate biscuits and shit all the time. All I hear is crunch crunch crunch, "fuck off" as he dies and then more crunching...
:P

You guys should have seen me in the midst of my World of Warcraft and City of Heroes addiction...
It was NOT a pretty sight...Mountain Dew can pyramids all over my desk, half-empty bags of chips everywhere, food wrappers, empty plates.
Amazingly I did not gain a single pound.
borgster101 - December 1, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
Insane metabolism, that's like me, I seem to be able to eat but not put on weight or as we would say gain a single kilogram :P
Though I have heard that just because you don't gain weight by eating fatty foods, the fat deposits will fill up your arteries, and so it’s still a problem, only you can’t see it as easily like with people who gain weight simply by having one too many of anything.
Andy - December 2, 2007 12:01 AM (GMT)
"All the time" seems most apt for me, even though it is usually a drink. I never eat for fear of getting greasy mits on controllers/controllers. Gaming is an unwind and an escape for me, so it is usually complimented quite well with a beverage to one side - alcoholic or otherwise.

I want your metabolisms, and I want them nao.
But instead, during this week I'm gonna buy a crappy mp3 player (exercise without music bores me) and use that home gym that's been sitting there hardly used.
Robert - December 2, 2007 04:33 AM (GMT)
Oh man WOW addicts are a messy bunch, i'm yet to come across an even semi-neat one. Oh and Mountain Dew rocks my socks.
Takora - December 2, 2007 06:17 AM (GMT)

That's like me as well. But I am borgster anyway so you people shouldn't really be surprised :P I wish I did put on weight, it'd remind me to get outside the house for walkies

I'm actually quite surprised that a lot of you don't drink while playing games. I mean, if you're anything like me you will sit there for like 3 hours (if not more) playing through the game of your choice. How can you not drink anything during that time?
But I guess it's just weird for me because I am always drinking. If you see Nismo, you'll see Nismo's drink as well...
