Title: When is a Pedo. a Pedo.??
Robert - November 7, 2007 11:32 AM (GMT)
My personal belief is that anyone who is over 19 years of age and still having sex with 14, 15,16, year olds is a pedophile. I diverge from the law a bit on this b/c I do not see a huge maturity jump between 18 and 19.
But if a 25 year old man has sex with a 17 year old girl is that pedophilia??
I would answer yes. You??

First of all, this has to be the most absurd topic ever.
Second, in response to your question, I'd say no.

Oh no, it's by far the most absurd. I saw this thread title over at another forum I frequent:
i need your advice on selfmade rhinoceros sounds.

First off, it's Paedo,
Secondly, don't take the first point the wrong way, I like 'em older :P
Hmm, 25v17? I'm not sure, and younger and I would say yes. The age gap is an odd thing to me, when you are younger it seems "wrong" to me (say, 30v17), but when both people are older I don't give a rats arse about that number (say 22v42).
It really just depends on the people, and my motto is "If they're hot, who fucking cares when they were born".

The general 'creepy age difference' rule is your age divided by 2 plus 7
So I'm 26, I shouldn't be doing anyone under 26/2 + 7 = 20 years old, otherwise it's just creepy.
So 18 year olds can't go lower than 16

Isn't pedophilia is being attracted to someone who hasnt matured physically yet. It has nothing to do with the mental/emotional maturity of the person yet.

No, its the complete opposite, it is to do with mental/emotional maturity. 16 year olds these days look like they're 20!
What you should do before having sex with someone is talk with them, not about sex but about life, school. mature stuff (get to know them). If they seem "mature" and if they convince you that they won't be crying in their beds after sex cos they lost their virginity to an adult then good.
I'm not promoting underage sex here. I think that anyone that under 21 can have sex with anyone over 16. And once you're 18 you can hump the oldest person in the world, I don't care. A friend's sister is 18 this year and she's going out (and definitely having sex!) with a 38 y.o! I wouldn't condemn this but the guys a loser so sux for her.

...anyway.
I think it depends. I see no issue with 16 and 19 but, then again, I've had personal experience so...I am biased. But some other age differences are creepy. However, it depends on the people and if they're happy and comfortable then okay for them.

Part of this comes down to consenting age, I think. I know it varies from region to region, but I personally think that someone below the age of 17/18 is incapable of making a truly rational decision regarding having sex with someone who is of consenting age.
Men of their mid-twenties and older should leave sub-17/18 year olds alone. To me, it seems somewhat predatory for someone who is adult (ie consenting age) to "liaise" with someone who hasn't developed their mind fully out of their home "safe" environment.
It's like "toolies" during schoolies week. If you're not part of their age clique, then you have no business there.
