Title: Poll of the Week 19

So, my mate finally finished building his own personal arcade MAME cabinet and it got me thinking. How many of you out there have an arcade machine?

Is it the real McCoy or a home made job?

Personally, I've always wanted an original. However, it seems anything in relatively good condition will cost me at least $1,500 which is a tad pricey for my liking.

I've always wanted one too. A cocktail type one(you know the tabley ones) for a coffe table. I read in atomic some guy got the empty shell of one and set it up with mame the joystiqs for navigating the menus and the coin slot worked too so awsome.

I've always wanted one, either Double Dragon of Ninja Turtles :P

Maybe I should make one...

Always wanted one! I'm not quite sure what I'd get though. I remember there was this really good arcade-machine I played when I was about 7 or 8 where you played this caveman character and had to run around smashing stuff. That was fun. :P

No, but I've always wanted one.

Well thats probably a stretch, but what gamer wouldn't want an arcade machine?! :D

Used to have one, well my dad did. An old pac-man machine, it bit the dust a few years ago... I should probably use the cabinet to build one though. Maybe some day.

Never have and never will due to how much space they take up. Especially the 4 player ones, they're huge.

I saw one of those for $2500 today, apparently it had about 40 different games built into it.
The tabletop was all scratched though, plus that is way too much money.

I'll have to wait until I am rich and eccentric before I get one.

All I want is either my 40-player Daytona set-up or some classic Pac-Man unit. Whichever is cheaper. ;)

Either that or Sega Rally/Time Crisis for me. Its a shame that after all these years I still prefer the 15 year old stuff compared to the arcade machines released nowadays that isn't associated with a long-running franchise.

I'd like one that still charges people so your friends will have to pay to play the game while you hold that special key because you're 'The Gatekeeper' :P

If I couldn't have an expensive $10,000 arcade machine than I'd be happy enough with an inexpensive Air Hockey table + digital overhead score display

I'd be happy with an Initial D machine, I reckon.
