Title: What is it with girls and the Wii??

Robert - October 27, 2007 03:16 AM (GMT)
All of my guy friends like to play my 360 but whenever it's one of my girl, friends they love my Wii. They're obsessed with warioware and like Resident Evil 4 because Leon is "cute". I guess it wasn't called the Wii for nothing...

Resident-Seven - October 27, 2007 03:24 AM (GMT)
Hey, Leon is cute... :P I'm sure they'll want to play the 360 when they see Chris Redfield in RE5 though.

I'm the same, ever since I got the 360 I haven't bothered with the Wii.

The girls loved the Wii when I had it too. I think its mainly because it didn't really feel like a videogame when playing Wii Sports, I should've kept it because whenever I mention I had one they're always saying "Why did you sell it?! I would've come over!"

So the Wii is also a flirtation device then?

Oh yes.

If your talking about casual chick gamers the Wii probably attracts them because uh... I don't know maybe it's just a chick magnet. Wait are we talking about THE Wii or YOUR Wii! :P

I think the lady-types like the Wii because it's not intimidating and it's easy to play... Nintendo will take over the world, find your panic button now for emergency pressing!

DJ-Civic - October 28, 2007 05:31 AM (GMT)
How do you think I get all my women?

Seriously, yeah I've noticed chicks dig the Wii. Probably because its something different and gets them moving. I think we as males shouldn't mind seeing girls jump around when playing the Wii... ahem. :P

borgster101 - October 28, 2007 05:48 AM (GMT)
I need to tell more girls I have a Wii I think :P

It's certainly a console for everyone though, and there's more games coming for the traditional gamer, further pushing the idea of being a console for "everyone", because hey gamers are included in "everyone" too right?

If you have to tell them, you're doing something wrong :P

What? It's a funny name! :whistling:

The only time I've had girls playing games here is on the Wii.
Oh and Mario DDR :D

But mainly Wii. I had me + 3 others one time o.o

Too bad it doesn't happen often.

C'mon, it gets them all excited and giggly. Score. It's obviously Nintendo's answer to the vibrator. I've known girls who are completely 'pink' (not with innuendo or anything, just a term I use to describe young females who get delirious when a new mascara comes out) who dig it: "OMG I LUV THE WII!!!!" :P

Perhaps I should purchase it again...

Meanwhile my experiences have been opposite to most.

Well actually that can't be right since I've never had a Wii in the house, yet so I can't actually comment on the situation. But as some of you know, the girls of my life (past or current) are gamers and from what they have said to me, they would be happy to play the Wii but at the same time they much prefer to pick up your standard controller and sink their teeth into a 360 game or whatever. So I guess at the end of the day it still depends on personal preference for the person more than anything. But I will agree that the Wii allows people to experience games in ways that will only benefit the future of gaming.

But yeah, my girls don't care what system they are playing as long as they are playing in the first place. :)

Girls have visited my abode and said that they hate videogames. I then pop in Wario Ware: Smooth Moves and they end up leaving saying "I'm buying my boyfriend a Wii". Heck, even my other half said that she didn't like the idiot boxes... but now picks up bowling and helps me out with Super Paper Mario ("This game is SO CUTE!").

They seem to enjoy bowling as well, because they can remain competitive and not be intimidated by it - in that it doesn't require complex button combinations, rather using a more natural motion to it.

I can practice bowling for ages, but girls can still win when they play me - or it's at least close.

Perhaps also it has something to do with the games not being all car racing, chicks with huge tits and ultra violent martial arts games that involve castles, dragons and the like.

My girlfriend has attempted to take my Wii home at least 15 times, no joke.

Random Hero - November 5, 2007 03:12 AM (GMT)
I can't believe we haven't heard a Wiimote rumble joke yet. :P

Girls like having a stick in their hands. More than boys... unless you're a gay boy.
