October 19th, 2007 -With recent reports stating that Okami was heading to the Wii, confirmation has come via EuroGamer that this indeed the case and the game is due Spring 2008 (an Australian release date is unknown at the moment however). According to Eurogamer the announcement was made to a London audience.
There isn't much else to the story from Eurogamer, and it doesn't appear to be on any other sites at the moment, so it makes it difficult to confirm the details, but from the looks of it, Okami is certainly coming to Wii.

I didn't play the PS2 version, but I heard that you have like a magical paintbrush or something, so I imagine that would work well with the Wii controller

Hmmm.... a port of the PS2 game.
Now should I get it? This is one game the Wii controls were definitely made for, but I already own in and its awesome as hell on the PS2.

Seems like it's only worth it for people who haven't played the original, and given that the PS2 game didnt sell very well, makes sense that Capcom would attempt to get the game out to more people, especially considiring the better than expected sales results of RE4Wii.

Well I have the PS2 version and while it was good, I didn't bother finishing it. So I'll end up grabbing the Wii version cos I don't wanna unpack my PS2... :P

^ I also haven't finished it due to Rachael stealing it off me. Not sure if I'd get this game on the Wii or not because obviously I already own it on PS2. It is the type of game though that is suited to the Wii, so will definitely consider it at the least.
I'm also inclined to agree with Prez's call, but then what would I know? I haven't finished either game as we all very well know.

Really good news, Okami is a real must-have for PS2, I hope it will be the same for Wii; let's see how you can change a masterpiece.

My PS2 sadly broke down,and I was dying for Okami,but the Wii version is confirmed and now Im as happy as that time the N64 kid broke his legs.
