Title: Biggest hard drive?
Robert - October 10, 2007 07:09 AM (GMT)
Who has a big hard drive/disk? Mine in a 500 GB, if you have over 2 drives, do not add them up just give me the one with the biggest amount of space.
Please be honest. a small HD is nothing to be ashamed of. ;)

Currently have 2x80gb upgrading to 500gb. I nearly bought 750gb for $250 but that's getting a little ridiculous, I'd just wait until they're cheaper. And if you are using that much then you should burn everything that you can onto DVDs

I have a 160Gb HD Not bad, not great. I'd rather have some good ram though. (well more ram)

I've got twin 320GB, and its not enough! I've already filled one, and the other is well on its way.
I don't want to burn anything to DVD as it defeats the purpose, I would never go through it again.

Actually I remember my first HDD that was 1.2gb and spent $300 upgrading to 15gb which for me seemed like a huge turnover. Before I only had enough disk space for Windows 98 and 1 or 2 games  How times have changed..

Well apparently Crysis needs 12Gb of space to install so yeah times have definitely changed! :o
My dad used to pay hundreds of dollars for like 16Mb back in the day.

Remember those floppy drives called ZIP or something (not to be confused with Winzip)? They were meant to revolutionise the way we stored things advancing from the 1.13mb floppies, it had 128mb (or was it 12.8mb?), cost $100 or so for the product and then about $25 per floppy disk.
I'm pretty sure CD burners existed during that time but only just and they were incredibly expensive ($800+ for 1x speed)

Hey, Robert, size doesn't matter, okay?! :P
Ah, I gotta 180GB HD, which is total bullshit really, because, when I got the thing in 2003, it was promised to come with 320GB. They lied. Doesn't matter really; I've still got about 85GB left (and that's spread out over two) and I can't download anything, so I'm fine for now. Still, the whole rig needs upgrading. Need. MONEY.
I've seen 1TB hard-drives available. That's some serious space. Still, in 10 years, it'll probably be nothing. I remember having a 6GB HD about 9 years ago. I could have The Sims and most of its expansions installed, and that'd be it, along with other system stuff. :P

My first was 200MB, after that 1.18GB, current using an 80GB, 320GB and 320GB external.
The 80's just system files etc, the externals music, movies, photos etc.
The other 320 is games and apps :)
Also, I remember paying hundreds of dollars for 16MB of RAM >.<

Those old school prices are hideous, I can't imagine forking over that much. You can get a terabyte for like $500 these days. I've got a 180GB and a 200GB external.
