Title: Books you would like to see as movies

What books would you like to see as movies if they aren't already?
For me, I wish that The Hobbit could be a movie. The Artemis Fowl Series would make great movies. Those and The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke.
I know I have more, what about you guys?

That has, in fact, already been done.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0430674/I saw it on DVD in Target today for $12.99.

I've always thought that Roald Dahl's BFG should be made into a movie. If they did it well, it would be great on screen.

Already been done:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096866/I'd like to see Glamorama by Bret Easton Ellis be made into a movie. I think if it was done right it could be fantastic.
Meanwhile I'm massively hanging out for Choke, which is due out next year. One of my favourite Palahnuik books and even though Fincher isn't directing, I get good vibes about this movie.

Some of David Gemmells books .. Dark moon or the rigante series of books. Excellent stories those ones.

I find that I lose a lot of enjoyment in book->movie conversions in the fact that 'Zomgod you haf ta reed the book first', or 'book was better than the movie'.
People say this, and know this before they go in, yet they continue to pay money to watch the film anyways.

I don't read them much anymore, but oddly enough i agree. I think if you went down the Drenai line, The First Chronicles Of Druss the legend would be awesome.
I think the Rigante series would seem a bit 'Braveheart'ish.

Well, at least the Hobbit is being made. 2 movies in fact.

I would like to see a better Princess Dairies movie made. More like the book and actually showing Mia in the book. More like Bridget Jones was made.
Five Quaters of the Orange would make a great drama movie. It's a lot darker then CHocolat, so it may get more Oscar attention and win something.
I would like to see Back to the Future remade in the future, because the effects will be cooler.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez' 100 Years of Solitude, on the condition that Guillermo Del Toro was directing.
I was thinking just this afternoon how amazing this could be.

But only if they actually did it right. Not butchered it like they did to Love in the Time of Cholera. But really, I think One Hundred Years of Solitude is unfilmable.

I sort of want to see how they'd do with a remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still. It probably wouldn't be as good as the original, but what the hell, I'd still want to watch it.

i'd like to see the dragonlance 'Chronicles' trilogy be made into movies, it's one of the better fantasy series i've read.
or alternatively' Batman: No Man's Land' would make a brilliant movie, basically gotham city's been pretty much decimated by a huge quake and has spiralled into anarchy. it's a really dark, well written story

Neuromancer. I think the world needs another cyberpunk adventure.
