Title: Most anticpated film ever

By far the movie I anticipated, more than any other in my entire life, was "Star Wars: Episode 3." Ever since I was a little kid, I'd been waiting to see that promised duel between Obi-Wan and Luke's father on the lava planet, and to see how (and why) the Jedi that was Anakin Skywalker became seduced by the Dark Side. And, for what it's worth, I'm probably one of a handful of people on the planet that wasn't disappointed AT ALL by the eventual revelation that "Vader" had sold his soul to the devil in an attempt to save his forbidden love and unborn children. ...Talk about tragic

Mine was definitely LotR: Return of the King. The previous two had already cemented themselves firmly at my No. 1 spot. When it arrived, December 21st, 2003 (hard to think that it was that long ago) it became my top movie of all time. Still is. :D

As for anticipation now, gotta be Halo and The Hobbit (which is apparently set for 2010). :P

I honestly just don't anticipate films... I haven't even seen transformers yet.

I'm an enormous B-Movie fan, but I just don't see whats worth anticipating in most movies. More than anything I find myself hanging out for new album releases (come on mars volta!), but it's god only knows how long since I was last at the cinema.

EDIT: Decman - I was in the Australian pre-release screening for fellowship of the ring. It was all hardcore tolkienites, so there was a full standing ovation at the end of it :)

Along with a few "We want Tom Bombadill!"s...

Indiana Jones 4, finally i'll be old enough to actually remember an Indiana Jones film coming out. :D

None really, Transformers maybe...

I'd say 'The Departed', definitely. I'm an absolute die hard fan of Martin Scorsese's work, especially when he returns to the criminal/gangster genre after such a long hiatus.

The movie of my life, when it comes out in 1000 years because i was so awesome.

Neither do I, I just wait for films to come out. The whole 'anticipating' thing is quite obsessive and often you'll become disappointed because you raised the bar too high. I guess in a way I anticipated Transformers but I really didn't know anything about the characters themselves or what they transformed into

This is Optimus Prime.

He transforms into your face getting rocked off.

Jurassic Park The Lost World and I was bitterly disappointed. :(

For me it was Resident Evil (The second one).
When I seen the ending for the first, I was on my toes for the second one. xD

The movie was NOTHING like the book and I was extremely disappointed too

I'd say the there were three BIG movies that I was always waiting for, and only one didn't fall short.

Spiderman 3: Venom should have made it the greatest movie ever. Instead it was a piece of crap. :(
Transformers: Where's the fanboy love? :(
LOTR: F*ck yeah!

Drake - September 25, 2007 05:00 AM (GMT)
Yep LOTR Return of the Kind was up there for me too.

Texta - October 8, 2007 08:11 AM (GMT)
I was pretty excited by the first LOTR film but it was disappointing, though I think it turned out to be the best one after the ridiculousness of the other two ("these books are so long we can't possibly fit it all in... so we'll just make up some scenes that don't feature anywhere in Tolkien's work instead.").

I was pretty keen for Stardust I guess. I got some free movie tickets from my work and held on to them for months waiting for the movie to come out. Definitely worth it though.

I thought this movie was pretty damn boring and pedestrian for about 30-40 minutes. Cgi wasn't anything spectacular either, and that main guy was just plain annoying. Though I eventually enjoyed it immensely when the "chase" started, and DeNiro showed up.

I didn't really notice the cgi. I think that's because unlike a lot of movies with cgi this one actually had an interesting plot. I was pretty happy to watch a movie that wasn't your standard action movie with 10+ shake cam like we seem to get these days.
