July 15th, 2007 - Well it's finally here, we are proud to officially launch the Evolution podcast, with this first episode, ingeniously titled "Episode 1", with E3 just finished, it has given us a fair bit to talk about, and so we hope you enjoy the first official episode. Join both borgster101 and /backslash as the events of E3 are discussed as well as any other random discussions that may have occurred. We're hoping to get a variety of guests to join us in future podcasts so stay tuned for that! And please let us know your thoughts by posting a reply :)

A few little niggles here and there (see if you guys can pick up on it, there's a few) but otherwise okay. I got pretty tired in the second half and even though we had breaks I didn't take advantage of them

It was an alright podcast, verrry long. That's because of E3 though, next time it'll probably be around 40-50min and a bit more "edgy". I wasn't really happy with my performance (didn't do any research), thankfully borgster was there to make things more interesting :D

I was just playing around with the quality settings in an attempt to lower the download size, and it turns out 48K/sec works out pretty well, sounds pretty much the same, but half the size in megabytes so I've uploaded this version for those of you that want a quicker download or are on a slower connection, the 'lower quality version' actually sounds pretty good anyway, so it might be the way to go for the future, it's easier on the downloads thats for sure :)

You know it might help if you actually put in the url for that second link :P

EDIT OK upload complete, I've kept both links up for now, the lower quality version (48K/sec) has quite good playback, so its worth the download if you dont want to wait, I'm not even sure if there is much difference between the two versions! :P Except for the music, the music doesn't sound as good in the lower quality version ...

Not sure. Considering how long the first one is I'd say it'll be about a good 2 weeks before we start the next one. Next week is a little too soon unless it's just another test (which we'll probably keep for ourselves). The testing matter being that infernal echo. I think I'll have to start wearing headphones and turn the 5.1 speakers off because I was picking up far too much background noise.

Next time it's going to be crisp clean quality hopefully.

Also, the next podcast will hopefully not just have myself and slashy, but also others, as we hinted in this podcast ;)

And furthermore we will try to keep future podcasts at an hour maximum, but ideally 45 - 50 minutes. This one was a bit longer because of E3.

Are any future guests going to be you guys putting on a different voice?

Why? Are our voices really that bad? :P If we don't get any special guests though we may have to work on that >_>

Best impression I can do is a british accent but I can't speak in a different tone. I think borgster also made an impression of Decman which was actually pretty funny but we didn't record that :lol:

Well, you know, gotta have the people's voice too, so I expect we'll be hearing more from the members here. Nothing wrong with your voices guys, just need more variety (in the future, not necessarily now). I still love you two though. :cheese:

Yeah the plan was to get in members (whoever can really) as "special guests", we had that planned for the first episode, but it didn't work out :( . That happens though .. So we'll see, hopefully we can get the guest for episode 2 ;)


But rather than have everyone jump out at once "can I be the guest??!!?" , we'll let you know ;) :P . Which is why we're kind of being a bit secretive about it, plus it's more suprising when the actual guest is on :D

Downloading as I type this, will give it a listen and post thoughts in here after I'm done.
