Title: What's your shameful gaming secret(s)?

Random Hero - June 28, 2007 01:44 PM (GMT)
-I've never beaten the original Super Mario Bros.

NismoR34 - June 28, 2007 05:27 PM (GMT)
I haven't finished Zelda: Twilight Princess yet.

Oh wait, that's not a secret... :P

FreakTrigger - June 28, 2007 11:07 PM (GMT)
I don't like starcraft.

I still keep the burnt out, non-functioning shells of my Atari 2600, Sega Gamegear, Atari Lynx and Neo-Geo. They have a little shrine under my TV.

Once, just to see what it was like, I actually used Cait Sith.

I have a copy of Mel Gibson's Safari.

I have a copy of Custer's Revenge.

Ok, no, that last ones just too filthy, I'm done.

Decman - June 29, 2007 09:34 AM (GMT)
I have copies of Val d'Isere Ski-park Manager and Praetorians on my PC.

I think Half-Life blows.

I think the Wii is seriously overrated.

I still stand by the fact that Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis on the PC, Xbox and PS2, is one of the best games ever made.

I never finished the original Halo.

 *sigh*

I haven't finished it either.

borgster101 - June 29, 2007 11:40 AM (GMT)
I was thinking of playing through TP again fairly soon, I'll probably beat you guys a second time :P

But now I've got Longest Journey on PC, so I may not... since I typically prefer to play games I havent played before playing ones I have already ;)

I've got a dead NES under my TV, but another working one and a working Atari 2600 :)

I had Cait Sith in my team for a while.

I also haven't finished Super Mario Bros, even though I have 2 copies.
I've spent nights upon nights trying, but my young feeble hands were not up to the task.

Angra - June 29, 2007 08:51 PM (GMT)
I've actually cracked open the casing of my TV from throwing a controller at it while playing Final Fantasy X.

I, too, used Cait Sith.

I can't live without GameFAQs.com.

I secretly love playing the Harvest Moon games. Literally, any Harvest Moon game.

I'm a fucking beast at DDR now, but when I first began to play I failed a song that was literally, the easiest song in DDR history.

During Knights of the Old Republic I discovered a new use for the rumble feature on Xbox controllers.

Haha, I couldn't resist.

Ever played Rez with the Trance Vibrator? (possibly nsfw or little kids) :P

Same :D

- I use cheats whenever I can in FPS games
- I rarely beat any of my games
- I bought DOA:XBV for Xbox and like many I didn't buy it for the gameplay

That's about all I can think of for now

_MetalliX_ - June 30, 2007 02:53 PM (GMT)
I played the first Splinter Cell almost entirely with a walkthrough.

I don't like Ghost Recon.

My Playstation days consisted of mostly playing demos.

I have only reached the rocket ship (100,000 points) in Tetris on GameBoy just relatively recently.

Ninja Catfish - July 1, 2007 08:47 AM (GMT)
I'll take that as a yes >.>

I have another, I played Half-Life again after getting this new PC just to see how high I could get that FPS meter up :P

I'm still in happy mode after getting my new videocard :)

borgster101 - July 1, 2007 11:20 AM (GMT)

Oh my god Angra, that cracked me up! :P

Andy - July 1, 2007 12:45 PM (GMT)
I too rely far too much on Gamefaqs.

I haven't finished Wind Waker and refuse to get Twilight Princess until I do so.

I cannot bring myself to go gunning people down "for the heck of it" in GTA.

I like the Mario Party games, multiplayer of course. Never tried it single player. I eagerly await number 8, coming soon.

I happily play PC games on my laptop, amid cries of heresy by my rig-owning friends. Guess who laughs hardest at LAN parties...

I fought vehemently for my PC owning friends in high school to recognise my Amiga 500+ as a viable gaming computer. Guess they showed me.

I always choose the "good guy" route in games that give you options to play as either good or evil. I cannot be a jerk to NPC's for some reason.

i'm sure i could think of more... maybe later

Damn... :(

But... I do like not having to make two or three trips to the car to fetch my PC...

Don't mock my shame!!!!

WTF? Cait Sith rules! I'm also a bit of a Harvest Moon fiend. Have it on DS? I do!

Shameful stuff...
After GTA:VC I got bored of GTA games.
I played Pokemon Diamond on the bus today.
I think Kasumi is banging.

Resident-Seven - July 3, 2007 08:36 AM (GMT)
I suck at Guitar Hero 2, so I use the standard controller.

Machiavelli - July 3, 2007 08:40 AM (GMT)
I actually enjoyed playing through and completing Shaq Fu on the SNES. :tomato: And don't worry, even though I was only ten years old I'm still very much ashamed of myself.

dave_cool31 - July 3, 2007 08:56 AM (GMT)
standard controller for guitar hero? :argh:

Anyway, shameful gaming secrets, eh? Let's see

I don't really play many violent video games, FPS's and so forth... I know, I'm so not hardcore

I sometimes play The Sims 2, and have considered buying the Seasons expansion pack, but couldn't bring myself to when I was in-store, because of the shame. So much shame... :P

I have a large list of unfinished games (I finish some of them, though...)

I could probably think of some more, I'll see...

Haha, same here mostly. Though it's often fun to save game, kill the annoying prick then reload your game and continue playing the "good way".

dave_cool31 - July 3, 2007 10:53 AM (GMT)
oh, yeh, that's something I usually do, too :P

Have you tried the tutorials/practice mode? It takes a while, but the guitar is so much better than the controller.

Edit: until you get to hard mode and constantly fuck up the 5th fret like me. Or get to medium and try and get a perfect "Jessica" :argh:

dave_cool31 - July 3, 2007 11:50 AM (GMT)
haha, I finished Hard mode already, you got some catching up to do - wait 'til you get to Psychobilly Freakout, it may end you. However, I only got 3 stars on most of the songs on hard, so I might not proceed to Expert just yet...

D43M0N - July 3, 2007 01:06 PM (GMT)
I will not go on unless I have 5 stars on each song, minimum; I'm up to Hangar 18, but I cheated and only got 4 stars on Madhouse.

Chords blow.

dave_cool31 - July 3, 2007 01:10 PM (GMT)
right on, I should probably do that, in fact, I've still got like 4 songs to even do on medium, you don't have to do them to finish, so I didn't bother...

NismoR34 - July 3, 2007 06:02 PM (GMT)
Take it to a Guitar Hero II thread people! :P (read: make one since I'll have the game soon too)

Harvest Moon kicks our arse. Awesome game/s. I own the SNES and Gamecube games, with interest in getting a few more versions someday.

I'm listening...

Anyway, I don't think I really have any gaming secrets. I can't think of any that's for sure. Unless you count my driving and following the road rules in Test Drive Unlimited a gaming 'secret' of mine...

Well I just finished playing a bit of Singstar...and I feel dirty.
Mainly cause I wasn't drunk, and Singstar is far more acceptable when you're off your tits.

Robert - July 10, 2007 10:33 AM (GMT)
Singstar  You girly man! :P

Resident-Seven - July 10, 2007 10:42 AM (GMT)
It's funny how singstar is girly, but guitar hero isn't. :P
