I would link you to more, but PCPP's forums are acting up and won't load properly :(

But Starcraft 2!

:dance3:

THIS IS LEGEND.

I was hoping beyond reason that Blizzard would have the balls to break the mold and go into a completely new genre for them with a new IP but this will do! :D

Starcraft 2 CGI announcement trailer

CG Trailer and in game footage. I lol'd at the Zerg after the nukes :D

Holy snapping duckshit!
It's StarCraft 2!
Yeah, I'm just a little bit excited you might say. I played StarCraft and Brood War almost to death once upon a time, and didn't like the setting of WC3, so this is like the second coming!

thebigm - May 19, 2007 01:43 PM (GMT)
Can't wait for this to be released, having not really put much time into SC1 (I always held hope that I would just put effort into 2 and play it a lot), I am eagerly anticipating this :D

Awesome news. Amazing how it's been in development for so long, yet there was no leaks or anything about it. Given this development time, and Blizzard's delay-happy development teams, I wouldn't expect this until late 2008 / early 2009.

Ninja Catfish - May 20, 2007 12:57 PM (GMT)
I've heard rumblings that it'll be released before thenend of 2007.
Wouldn't me too hard, it looks like they've done a lot of the work already.
Then again they could have just made the bare minimum and have the bulk left to do.

Gah. can't wait.

BrotherEstapol - May 20, 2007 01:35 PM (GMT)
From the screenshots I've seen it looks like it should have come out last year...not really that ground-breaking (graphics-wise) for an RTS these days.

I'm just happy they didn't announce an MMORPG. :)

Andy - May 21, 2007 12:37 AM (GMT)
Yeah, if I were blizzard, i'd be leaning away from the MMORPG area for a while. return to your roots and prove why you're still one of the best developers in the world.

I'm only a recent RTS convert to be honest. I've been playing mainly C&C Generals. I should pick up a budget copy of SC1 and check this out.

Pity I'm late to this game, and wouldn't be able to play it online without having my arse handed to me every time.

Totally agree. Unfortunately Blizzard would more than likely have separate teams working on StarCraft II and new WoW content, probably a second expansion or something. We must hurry and kill it off. *gets knife*

BrotherEstapol - May 21, 2007 11:19 AM (GMT)
I just want SC:Ghost. :(

It was infdefinitely put on hold a long time ago. Blizzard wasn't making Ghost. Another company was. Blizzard bought them out near the end of development, and they decided that the project wasn't worth continuing. This isn't the first time they cancelled a game...this is pretty much an echo of what happened with Warcraft Adventures. Ghost isn't coming back...any more than Warcraft Adventures is.

In other news, someone other than me that plays Generals! :)

Depending on your motivation will determine whether you enjoy SC1 though.
I played it to death a few years back, and now my main RTS is Zero Hour. I tried playing SC1 but I was tired and couldnt motivate myself to play.

I could try again later.

I'm aware of Blizzard's development history thankyou very much. <_<

All I'm saying is that Oz Forces isn't a game, it is a way of life! ;)

Robert - May 24, 2007 04:30 AM (GMT)
 You guys want a boxing ring assembled or what? :P

What about Diablo III? The onlt thing I can think of is that Diablo II came out in 1999. StarCraft in 1998. And as popular as Diablo II was, StarCraft was probably even more popular. Not to mention there's 2 Diablos, and only 1 StarCraft.

However, do you guys think they're working on Diablo III right now. or not? Blizzard says they have several projects in development so surely they are right?

ElPresidente - May 24, 2007 06:03 AM (GMT)
We can only hope.

Andy - May 29, 2007 02:56 AM (GMT)
Playing SC1 right now. It's strange... the game has an undeniable charm to it, despite its aged graphics.

I knew that there was a huge expectation of this game, but I think i'm beginning to now understand why.

diablo 3 next, please blizzard. Not an MMO, just leave it on battle net. plzkthxbai!

Qubert - June 3, 2007 05:36 AM (GMT)
Why do Koreans treat SC players like a rockstar. They are a bunch of uber nerds.

Andy - June 4, 2007 02:00 AM (GMT)
Uber nerds... or forward thinking people who embrace technology as a viable means of both active and passive entertainment, and people who don't only hold up giant muscle-bound athletes as the be-all and end-all of their superstars?

Fine line, methinks. :)

Random Hero - June 7, 2007 12:32 PM (GMT)
I'm bored so If today's modern military were to fight against the Zerg (and maybe Protoss) how long do you think they could last compared to the Terran? Lets exclude the whole space thing, or imagine the battle was on Earth.

I'd say they may not last as long but they could still probably put up a good fight.

Ninja Catfish - June 9, 2007 04:40 AM (GMT)
Maybe if they bunkered up a lot. Or launched nukes.
They'd need to be very tactical about it, picking them off one at a time slowly depleting them.

Random Hero - June 12, 2007 05:19 AM (GMT)
Knowing humans, we would try to create peace.

If that doesn't work.
We, humans would be utterly annihilated.
