Title: Getting publicity
Robert - May 2, 2007 06:45 AM (GMT)
Hey guys!
I was thinking if we could get someone with the skills (photoshop etc.) could make a printable flyer, then our current members print them out and if they choose to, could go around to all of the various games places (EB etc.) and ask them to put them up in the shops' window (like they do with rave posters and music events and such), this would be a great leap for advertising for this place! I mean you guys have some great prizes each month, im sure gamehead would love this too.
"Visit zbevo.com and win guitar hero II!" etc. with cool graphics and pictures etc. they'll see it and go "hmm...I might check this out next time I'm on the internet".
Any publicity is good publicity....right?

That is an interesting idea, we'll have to look into that.
DJ-Civic - May 2, 2007 07:52 AM (GMT)
Yeah we could even turn the flyer design into a competition as we have some members with "tEh photoshop skillz". ;)

Yeah, we should also drop names like "We used to on Hyper" or something cos everyone knows Hyper>>.

Well if you fellas make it happen I will definately drop it in my local EB. Just post it here and i'll print it of and do it next time im heading that way. :)

I'm not from there but I know some of you are and that idea is hella funny. Even though you where joking... out of curiosity how much would that cost roughly? $50 or so for a very small ad I reckon? Let's do it. :D

No way, it would be waaaaaaaaaaaaay more than that.
More members would be great, but this site doesn't generate money so there isn't really much point spending money on attracting more users. Besides it seems to be going well so far.

Lol, I would be firebombed by Irish travellers if I tried to do that over here.
It's a neat idea though. I'll perform if you make. :D

Same, if you guys make one to print out, count me in! :)
FreakTrigger - May 7, 2007 11:32 PM (GMT)
Sounds like a really good idea to me :)

So is anybody willing to make this flyer or not? I know there are some photoshop heads around here... SHOW YOURSELFS!! :P
borgster101 - June 3, 2007 01:27 AM (GMT)
Doesn't look like any of our Photoshop skilled people has taken interest. You dont have to be a staff member to do it, if you have the talent and the time, you could always post your effort here, and anyone willing to print them off and distribute them can do so

There is no reason to make a flyer to advertise an online forum. You would be completely missing the target market, as well as the medium through which the market would take interest.
The best way to advertise the forum would be online banner ads on Australian gaming websites. We are already doing this with the signatures we provide for users to include in their profile on other forums.

I disagree, I know i'd look twice if the main focus of the banner was about winning a free game. I mean normally i'd go to more lengths than signing up to a forum to win a free game.
