Title: Pokemon Pearl and Diamond
Description: WITH THE POKE AND THE MON AND THE ARGHHH

So got Pearl today from Play-asia :D
It's pretty damn cool. Same old deal really, but that's enough for me, with online, plus I didn't play the last generation, so they'll be a few new things.
Only thing is, it's damn ugly. The whole half-3D thing they've got going just seems ugly, especially with sprites still. The bottom screen is virtually unused until battle, which seems silly when it should be better implemented for the menus. Instead you get a massive, ugly, black and white display of a clock, calculator (?) or pokemon health.
Also, the pokemon cries, are STILL 8 BIT. In fact most of the sounds are. Nintendo are stupid.
But still, tis pokemon, tis great fun.

My brother got Diamond a couple of days ago. It looks decent enough, but I don't think there's enough new stuff to warrant a purchase.

The reviews seem to suggest its a great game, as expected though there is some elements that should have been improved to better take advantage of the DS, Pokemon sounds should be voiced or something, for instance.
My brother will buy it, upon Aussie release.

I'll be grabbing Diamond on Aussie release.

After getting it on Thursday, my brother's already up to the last gym. He's been playing a lot. :P

I'm still undecided. While I loved Blue, I didn't play any until Sapphire, and it just didn't have enough to grip me. So I'm still hesitant to buy a Pokemon game unless it has something new and innovative, or even if they just fix it.
e.g. Battle animations, sounds, online etc.

I'm so pissed at Pearl right now! I just played for a while now and for some reason the game decided to like freeze on me (After a battle the screen of course goes black like it always does to load back to overworld..) It stayed there and wont budge -.-
I caught a bunch of pokemon (probably 30... including the 1st forms and such... because Im trying to get one of each pokemon... Ex. 1 Pichu, 1 Pikachu, 1 Raichu.. I want all forms.. not just the final).
Well yeah... all of that is gone. And the funny thing is that I was planning on saving RIGHT after that battle too... ugh....

Well, this game really was a bit of a let down. I got Diamond on the 24th played it (ALOT), finished the elite4 (+1) an then became a little tired of it all. That and I was missing a coule pokemon i needed for the national poedex, so I started again.
The graphics could be better, and the touch screen was basically not used at all (you can use it during battles, but whats the point when you have to go back to buttons all the rest of the time).

Took me 24hours 12minutes to finish the elite4, and I got lost at one stage for about 4-5hours after the 4th gym cos I was going so fast I missed talking to a guy I was supposed to meet. For the same reason I even missed a HM and had to go through the entire foggy bit with th fog still there - FRUSTRATING!

I had a level 73 penguin (and about 6 rare candies I was thinking of feeding it), they are tuff. :)

I picked up Diamond a few days after it's US release. Yes, it's the same-old rehash but it's enjoyable. The age of the franchise's mechanics obviously weighed on me as it took me days to get started and a few more weeks to really get cracking into it. Anyone who knows me knows I'm an A-class Pokémaniac... And I'm happy to say nothing has changed.
The discovery element alone is enough for me. I still remember a few years back how much I stared in awe when my Lairon evolved into Aggron. That same feeling has not disintegrated after so many years, it's magic.
The Mode7-ish graphics engine I admit is a little hard on the eyes, considering how smoothly the R/S/E generation played, but it's an adjustment I'm willing to make. Too many times before have I been scalding to changes to an existing mold.
I'm 5 gyms in with a full team at 37. Be wary though, I already have a Lv100, so all you showboats can sit back down. :P
I'm looking forward to the Wii counterpart, out in a few days in the US. Time to grab a freeloader, methinks!

Holy crap it's Fyuusi! He's alive I tell you! ALIIIIIVE! :P
I'd still like to get this at some point but like you Fusion, the gameplay mechanics are wearing me down with the same old thing. It's not entirely new despite being built from the ground up but there is that ever-so-desirable charm of collecting things. If I'm bored out of my brains after beating all my other DS games (which seems impossible), I'll pick this up during the dry season or so god help me, lend thy a copy >_>
*looks at Fyuusi's game*
You done with that yet? ;)

Same Old, but Same Good I say.
I'm currently looking for a special wall NOT named Blissey. Looking through Serebii's stat list, Probopass looks like a good pokemon to use. I'm open to other suggestions, so long as their not legendary/uber, and, NOT Blissey.

Hell no! Didn't I make it clear that I'm still addicted to it like a junkie to a crack-line?
"Ooh, a piece of candy!" :P

Besides Sableye and Spirtomb what are the best competitive Dark-Types. I'd use my Mightyena (favourite pokemon) but he's NU. :(

I think Tyrantir is supposed to be pretty good.
I'm not a massive nut. I usually ask at HA and get answers of guys like WhyMe and Newell who study the game vigourously!
