The game will feature over 100 new Pokemon, and gamers can transfer their old Pokemon from GBA games to the new DS version, the game will also feature online gameplay via the Nintendo WiFi Connection, gamers can talk with friends, before, during and after battles, which is an improvement over the voice features in Metroid Prime Hunters where players were restricted to communicating only in between matches.

The DS Headset which makes voice communication easier and clearer will also be released on the same day retailing for $19.95AU.

2 months after the US is a bit rough... If I had more time to devote to video games I'd consider buying the US version from dvdcrave, it'd probably be a bit cheaper, too...

It is, $56.95

And to get the free shipping (when buying any game over $50 at DVDCrave), enter the code "dsausfreeauspost" when going through the checkout process. Not sure if it's still valid but it can't hurt to try

Was thinking about getting this over Castlevania DS for my brother's bday but that was after I already bought Castlevania so it's a little too late now. Looks to be like a good game, the new graphics engine and remixed sound is enough to warrant a purchase compared to the other same-old sequels

yeh it will most likely be great, as have been all the other handheld Pokemon RPGs. I'm still playing through Leaf Green because I happened to find it for $9.95 at David Jones one time when I was looking for somewhere that had Guitar Hero 2 for 360 in stock, it was the only copy too so I was like "w00t!"

I'll get the local release since I dont have a lot of time to play videogames at the moment, but by late June, exams will be over, so I'll have some more free time. So the release date works out, in a connivent sense ;)

Just curious, I know how lots of people play Pokemon in GBA/DS games but how many of us actually like the franchise outside of videogames? My older brother for example, likes the GBA games but hates anything else relating to Pokemon. I don't like Pokemon either, however I enjoy the games as a standalone RPG

Kind of liked the Anime when I was younger, but these days it's all about the RPG :D

I couldn't care for the figurines, Anime or books (or whatever) really but I have always been a fan of the games. I did use to watch the Anime when I was younger but it was more about needing something to do before school than watching because it was Pokemon.

Anyway, good news about the release date. Odd how the date for these two games has been confirmed in a smaller time frame than a certain Paper game...

The additional problem with "that Paper game" is the PAL/NTSC crap, i.e. region locking.

Though, we should get a date for this paper game fairly soon.
