So far Nintendo definately has been the most impressive at E3. Realistic Zelda! Thank you Nintendo! :D
EDIT: Just downloaded the trailer and it looks AWESOME!

Manny M - May 11, 2004 11:37 PM (GMT)
After years of dissapointment from Nintendo and a growing trend in the general thought of them not fulfilling the desires of their fans, it seems as though Ninty has finally pulled through. How does this title alone bode for Nintendo? Very well in my opinion.

What's next Shiggy? Mario 128?!

I'm now left wondering what's happening with the wind waker sequel.

Hello - May 11, 2004 11:41 PM (GMT)
Dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That game looks so friggin' amazing.
Zelda without the shit graphics? What more could you want...

StElLaR - May 12, 2004 01:10 AM (GMT)
HOLY SHIT!!! I think I just wet my pants. Seriously.

....Yeah i'm distrubed too, but NEW ZELDA!! HOLY SHIT!!

Spag - May 12, 2004 01:12 AM (GMT)

TrinityJayOne - May 12, 2004 01:28 AM (GMT)
*downloads movie*

Daaaaaamn...that's pretty good!! I haven't really played any of the other Zelda games, but I'd buy that one for sure! :D

Chrisł - May 12, 2004 01:39 AM (GMT)
YES!!!!!

THIS is what I've been waiting for since Spaceworld 2000!!!!!!

This game looks absolutely amazing!

Realistic Zelda. The kick-arse DS. Well done guys!

Nintendo, you've made my day! After years of deceit and betrayal you've finally come through for jaded fans such as myself. HOORAY!

jawbreaker982 - May 12, 2004 01:52 AM (GMT)
I absolutely loved the graphical style of WW, but just the mention of realistic Zelda made me wet my pants in excitement. I hope we get this and the WW sequel...

From what I've read about E3 it seems Nintendo are aiming more at giving gamers what they want, and less at trying to surprise them...at least for the moment ;)

Choabac - May 12, 2004 01:52 AM (GMT)
Dear sweet zombie jesus!

I thought Microsoft would had stolen the show with their strong showing, but how quickly the tides can change.

It feels good to own a GCN right about now. :)

Seeing how link is an adult I’m guessing that after Wind Waker they found a new place to live? Seeing how the land was flooded and all.

I’m curious as to what they’re going to name this title, and which land it is set in. Also what is the new power item in the game? So many questions, and they haven't even specified a release date.......I'm so depressed now. :(

:P

And I JUST bought one...

I feel like a poor man tripping over a pot of gold! :D

Comrade Natrak - May 12, 2004 02:18 AM (GMT)
This is great news, as much as I loved Wind Waker's art style I longed for a more realistic Zelda the likes of Ocarina of Time. Thank you Nintendo! With this and the DS Nintendo are looking like the standouts of the show so far.

markymark - May 12, 2004 02:45 AM (GMT)
far out, i just got shivers reading the ign article about nintendo screening the clip at e3...

...downloading movie now...

...hmmm... excuse me, i'll just have to go change my pants.

MrRae - May 12, 2004 03:39 AM (GMT)
And that looks like Adult Link! Wow, two dreams coming true at once :)

I would have settled for a realistic young link, or and adult wind waker link :P

All this hype about Zelda has overshadowed other games. I was shaking for an hour after watching the Zelda trailer just like all of you guys, but honestly, the other games like Geist, Metroid Prime 2, Advance Wars, Pikimin 2, Resident Evil 4, Paper Mario 2, Starfox, and Mario Tennis deserve some attention as well.

BrotherEstapol - May 12, 2004 05:57 AM (GMT)

Dear god they listened.

*opens bottle of Champange*

THANKYOU NINTENDO!! :D

Mach: Of course they do, but this is the Zelda thread, if we want to congratulate Capcom for RE4, we'd do it in the RE 4 thread. ;)

Yeah I know, but beyond this forum, all i'm hearing/reading is soley based around the new Zelda. It's probably just the initial shock of it all though.

YES!!!!!

THIS is what I've been waiting for since Spaceworld 2000!!!!!!

Same! I much prefer the graphics of the new trailer to the Spaceworld demo.

Everything just a much more natural, organic look to it. Everything in the Spaceworld demo seem to have a plastic sheen to it, like everything was coated in polyurethane or something. There's just a lot more model detail on the new trailer, instead of just "green tunic, white undergarment", etc.

I'm getting periods of cold shivers, and they won't stop!

Thank you *shudder* Nintendo! *shudder*

BrotherEstapol - May 12, 2004 07:18 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I think we all got shivers when we saw that video. :P

But 2005?

NOOOOOOO!!!! :(

~DC - May 12, 2004 07:48 AM (GMT)
Good one Ninty!

I'll love you forever, I promise! :P

AmyRose - May 12, 2004 09:05 AM (GMT)
I just had a gamegasm. Dear sweet zombie Jesus. :o

I love you Nintendo. I love you, I love you, I love you.

*strokes Gamecube*

JJJames7 - May 12, 2004 09:10 AM (GMT)
Well, it made me say "holy fucking shit", so I suppose I might* buy it.

*yeah, I want it.*

*Emphesis not shown. :P

hij4ck3r - May 12, 2004 09:12 AM (GMT)
Well thers not much i can say about it really except for WOW..... if the story is there (which i dont doubt) - GOTY, nintendo are back!

Sweating Bullets - May 12, 2004 09:20 AM (GMT)
Damn that looks sweeeeeet!

Can't wait.

fishonthecarpet - May 12, 2004 09:38 AM (GMT)
Looks fantastic... as does nintendo's other titles.
These new games look to be what the GCN needs to become a classic! (Even though I love it already)

thebigm - May 12, 2004 10:35 AM (GMT)
Damn that looked sweet........ *drools*

Cant wait for more on this game :)

Film Guru - May 12, 2004 10:35 AM (GMT)
I loved The Wind Waker to bits, but man did seeing this trailer gimmie goosebumps!

While clearly the graphics are not complete, it's still looking floppin' awesome. Bring it on Nintendo! Bring us the OoT killer! :D

2005 is preaty good seeing as we got Wind Waker last year and this has a complete graphics overhaul it only around 18 months max if it december next year

Spazzallo - May 12, 2004 11:09 AM (GMT)
O...M...G!

I havent seen the video yet but this looks absolutely awesome. How the Gamecube will be able to keep this up i dont know...

DJ-Civic - May 12, 2004 11:36 AM (GMT)
My initial reactions were as follows;

"..........................................."

" "

" :o "

" :D B) :) "

This was so unexpected from Nintendo. I think the DS showing was great, and then they topped it off with this! Awesome stuff! :D

Holy shit on a stick! I didn't think Shiggy would ever do it after what he said about why he did Wind Waker like he did! That's abso-fecking-lutely gorgeous!

Oh yes, and I must remember to pay a "visit" to Shiggy's house and "borrow" those props. <_<

Best. Shiggy pose. Ever.

Is there anything the man can't do?

I'm also thrilled it's due out 2005. See, I have no more high school next year, so I won't undergo the same ordeal I went through to preorder the last one. <_<

Spag - May 12, 2004 01:26 PM (GMT)
As for the other games....

Geist - I was looking foward to it last year, but after reading some impressions from n-philes.com, I don't have the same anticipation

Star Fox - Looking pretty good, nothing AAA about it but I'm interested

Advanced Wars (Cube) - Meh

Mario Tennis - Fun, fun, fun :D

Spag - May 12, 2004 01:38 PM (GMT)
Just reading some details about Zelda over @ IGN and this quote surprised me:

QUOTE
Nintendo however confirmed to IGNcube that the newly redesigned title does in fact run on a modified version of the Wind Waker engine

A modified version of Wind Waker? Wow - that's a pretty decent effort, because it looks like a totally new gpx engine. Or at least OoT engine revamped....

You're kidding?! :o How is that possible? The games are total opposites when it comes to graphics...
If it is, way to go Nintendo, I guess. ;)

Actually, I was referring to the fact that this new Zelda is in the same realistic graphical style of the Spaceworld 2000 demo.

I was looking forward to a realistic Zelda and got uber-pissed upon the decision to favour Wind Waker's cel-shading style.

Now they have returned to the style they demo'ed and I am uber-happy. ^_^

StompBrother - May 12, 2004 02:01 PM (GMT)
Well I guess everyone elses prayers have been answered then. I really wanted another cel shaded one. Oh well. This looks alright, eventhough it's been done before albeit on a weaker graphics system (N64). When it boils down to it, it will play just like every other 3D Zelda.

So sorry to rain on the parade, but I just wasn't that excited. Yeah I was like shocked and all but I think I'll be looking out for Odama instead. I guess I'm looking for something more original.

EDIT:
I'll still be first in line to buy the game when it comes out though. I'm too much of a Ninty fanboy not to.
