Title: Indianna Jones 4?
_MetalliX_ - April 16, 2007 05:24 AM (GMT)
Well this isn't rumour, its actually in production as we speak. Almost twenty years since his Last Crusade (wow, awesome pun!) he is set to reappear in his next film in 2008.
The movie, currently named only "The fourth installment of..." will star Harrison Ford in his usual role as well as Shia LaBeouf of "Disturbia" fame as Indy's son.
Sean Connery, Australian Cate Blanchett and even Ford's real life spouse, Calista Flockhart are rumoured to co-star. Perhaps most intriguing is that Kevin Costner is has been slated to play Indy's brother, although nothing is set in stone.
Random Hero - April 16, 2007 05:31 AM (GMT)
It's gonna be great, and I really don't care about how old Harrison Ford is anymore. The question is, who will be the bad guys this time around though? Nazi's or Communists?
_MetalliX_ - April 16, 2007 05:48 AM (GMT)
I think we can pretty much safely say terrorists.
Random Hero - April 16, 2007 05:54 AM (GMT)
In the late 40's or early 50's? I doubt it. Considering Ford's age I reckon it will take place within that time frame.

 Probably!
Looking forward to this, I'm a pretty big Indy fan :D I just hope they don't screw it up, since Last Crusade ended the franchise on a great note.

Like Random Hero said, I don't think terrorists were that big a threat back in the 40s and 50s.

Speaking of Indianna Jones 4 has anyone heard that Die Hard 4 is coming out soon 19/7/2007? As Metallix already stated I think we can pretty much safely say terrorists :P Hollywood must be really low on new ideas, it wasn't so long ago that Rocky Bolboa was released, all 3 movies with some 15+ year gaps
Nevertheless, Indianna does sound more promising than its competitiors

Robert - April 16, 2007 11:39 AM (GMT)
And don't forget about Rambo IV which is currently filming. Sly grew his mullet back just for it. As for Indy, why the hell is Shia LaBeouf cast in it? He's a major d-bag that is going to taint a great film franchise. it's really sickening.

Die Hard, fair enough. Indy, I think you guys are forgetting that the original three were set in the 30s, so #4 will be set in the 40s/50s, where they didn't have terrorists to such an extent as today.

Is it actually confirmed when the 4th Indy will be set?
Though yeah, it wouldn't make much sense if it was set in the present day.

No, it hasn't, but unless Indy gets hold of a time machine, I seriously doubt it'll be in the present. :P

Can't they just continue forever? Lucas said that this was supposed to be the american version of james bond so wy couldn't they keep making more adventures long after harriosn ford retires or dies of extreme age?

Shia LaBeouf Leaks 'Indiana Jones' Fourth Title'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' is the name we've all been waiting for. :o
FreakTrigger - September 10, 2007 11:25 PM (GMT)
I really desperately want this to not suck...
I have a dog named Indi, short for Indiana, named after Indiana Jones, who was called Indi, as well as named after a dog named Indiana.
Considering how many classic series have been dragged kicking and screaming from their peaceful rest to be soundly beaten and left sullied lately this honestly doesn't bode well for me.
borgster101 - September 11, 2007 04:38 AM (GMT)
^ Ah so that's where that Communism image came from  (remember google your username thread :P )
Title is a bit uhh wordy .. I too hope this doesn't suck ...
Qubert - September 11, 2007 05:43 AM (GMT)
Well put it this way, it will be better than Rambo 4.
Robert - October 13, 2007 06:35 AM (GMT)
:D
What Sort of Beginning Would Compare?Let's face it. The opening sequences to the 3 Indiana Jones films are some of the most famous and enjoyable ever.
Raiders (the relic, rolling rock, "Start the plane") is up there as probably one of the few most famous opening sequences in film history, everybody knows it and loves it.
Temple (Shanghai, "...To The Poison You Just Drank", Shortround, dinghi falling from the plane) isn't as famous, is a little inferior, but still enjoyable.
Crusade (River Phoenix, the train sequence, Indy's dad, etc.) is IMO better than Temple, but still inferior to Raiders.
How the hell are Lucas & Spielberg gonna create an opening to compare to the previous 3? Any ideas on what it could be?
and oh yeah, cant freakin' wait for this movie!
Ali G - October 21, 2007 03:03 AM (GMT)
So apparently it's to be called Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and the bad guys will be the Soviets. Looks awesome, though I think I'll keep a healthy dose of skepticism, seeing as the original three will be near impossible to top.
Robert - October 22, 2007 05:31 AM (GMT)
According to a poll this is the most anticipated movie at the moment. :D

Does anyone know why the Ark might be back?
Having the Ark in it seems like a cheap way to make the franchise go full circle. If the movie is about crystal skulls, just make it about crystal skulls. What happens if Indy 4 sucks? Then Raiders might be tainted because it has the Ark in it too.
D43M0N - October 27, 2007 04:40 AM (GMT)
The Ark was mentioned in passing in The Last Crusade, so I wouldn't worry about it. And I doubt Indy 4 will suck, come on. It's fucking Indy.

Watched the movie today, was great overall, I still like Last Crusade best, though Crystal Skull easily beats out Temple of Doom, can't decide between the first and last movies though
At the end of the day, it's a great movie, it's pure Indy, maybe a bit crazy in a couple of scenes, but enjoyable good fun overall. It was great to see another Indy movie after all this time! :D
I think I'd rate it a 9/10, I love the Indy franchise, and this one doesn't disappoint at all, it's got everything an Indy movie should have, and especially since it's a rebirth of an old franchise, it's got it's nice share of nostalgia as well! :)

I love Sam and Max
Anyway, back on topic, I should be going to see this movie tomorrow night

I've asked about 3 people to see this with me this weekend. They're either too busy or don't like Indiana Jones! One of them was my brother who turned me down so naturally I'm disappointed
Argh, I hate it when this happens

Its freaking Indy!!!

Raiders >>> Last Crusade > Temple of Doom >>>> Crystal Skull
** SPOILERS **
The aliens were a poor plot device IMO, I would have much rather seen another religious quest, maybe an East-Asian or Muslim one. Heck, if they chose a spiritual plot device for the Crystal Skulls rather than the extraterrestrial one I would have been much happier. It was good that they showed Indiana in the context of a wise mentor, LoBouf was a good foil for Indy. And though I still hate his guts for the travesty that was Transformers, he was decent in this film.
The cheesy parts of this movie were also pretty lame, the fridge-blasting, vine swinging, ant eating crap that Lucas probably pushed for was just irritating. But the Spielberg parts certainly did shine through which was nice, and Harrison Ford was fortunately still the star, and even with his age could still play a tough SOB.
The final thing that I expected, but wished they had not done was the amound of CG involved and the overly-saturated colors. But that was purely preference and really didin't distract too much from the film.
** END SPOILERS **
All in all I would give it a 6.5 or 7/10
Decman - May 25, 2008 02:56 PM (GMT)
The fridge blasting thing is possible, seeing that it was lined with lead.
I thought it was brilliant. The Last Crusade is still my favourite, but it was better than Temple of Doom in my opinion. I'll agree, the plot was certainly a massive transition from the usual holy relic quests, and it seemed a little less funny than the others, but still a candidate for film of the year purely for the sheer vastness of the adventure. :D
8/10 :)

| Given the film is set in the 50's, a time where everyone was scared of being abducted by aliens, the plot device actually works quite well, I too thought it was a bit weird, but once you consider the setting, it makes more sense, it's post WWII, the golden age times, and aliens coming from outer space to assist Communist Russia was the only thing America could worry about ;P |
dave_cool31 - May 26, 2008 11:14 AM (GMT)
well I was going to see this last night, but after getting lost on the way to the cinemas at Southbank (in the city) and taking an hour to get there when it should have taken about twenty minutes and then finally getting to the cinemas to find the parking lot just barely full and having to pay $13 for parking down the road, me and my friend who I went with found that all of the three sessions within the next two hours were full. So we saw 21 instead. It was pretty good.
If anyone needs to know how to get to Southbank cinemas, feel free to ask me :P
Drake - May 27, 2008 10:07 AM (GMT)
Crystal Skull was bad because:
1) The plot was awful. Somebody seemed to have spilled some ridiculous *SPOILER* all over my Indy
2) No Indiana Jones fighting. The only punches he threw were in the first 20 minutes of the film. The film was begging for a showdown of some sort, and it was a real let down for the *SPOILER*
3) Tarzan scene and random, out of place CGI animals
The only thing that was really spot on was the dialog and the humor. That was typical Indy.
