Just watched the demonstration below and my head nearly fell off, i'm sorry but this is the car game to end all car games. I'm buying a 360 and wheel just for this. Obviously i'll buy other games but i'm really excited now so shutup! :P Comes out in may this year I think, i've got to get my shit together and get a 360 right now.

Forza Motorsport 2 Demonstration Part 1

Forza Motorsport 2 Demonstration Part 2

Forza Motorsport 2 Demonstration Part 3

Unbelievable. There is just so much potential it's hard to believe. I'm stunned. :o Any of you 360 owners getting this??

BrotherEstapol - March 29, 2007 10:01 AM (GMT)
Does Forza have a "T" in it that seems to somehow miss being spelt into the word!?
Cause all those damned yanks keep pronouncing it like Fortza....WTF!!?!?!

NismoR34 - March 29, 2007 03:33 PM (GMT)
^ Haha, I think they are just getting confused with the way Italians pronounce it, since it's an Italian word. (or at least it was last time I checked...)

As for Forza 2, you bet your arse and a pony that I am buying this game and indeed the wheel for this game. Forza 1 rocked my socks off and it still does. Yes even after the game decided to corrupt my save file when I was on 97% complete. <_<

I have been craving a new circuit based racing game for a while now and Forza 2 will fill this void wonderfully, so yeah, bring it on. :D

New Weekly Pitpass Report

Every week Turn 10 post up a report on a few aspects of the game. This week they talked about the career progression. Sounds very cool. Loved this shot:

Also, here's the car list so far: List!
We get the tuner and aftermarket cars on the 5th April, and the race class cars on 19th April.

Quatters - April 2, 2007 02:37 AM (GMT)
Well we know one of the tuner cars now!
Miki's old Top Secret D1 S15 Silvia.

DJ-Civic - April 2, 2007 05:05 PM (GMT)
I'd love it if they had some drift events in the game...

And yes, I'm looking forward to this game. Everything about it seems to be improved over the original, but until I play it I won't know if they've changed the controls - something I felt was too touchy in the original. Either way though, I'll be getting it and building some tough japanese cars. ;) Nismo still owes me a fully worked R34... <_<

Andy - April 3, 2007 04:18 AM (GMT)
The driving model in the previous forza was fantastic. Even the drifting felt right (yes, i know there was no drifting component... i drifted anyway). This looks really cool, and could be what sways me to pick up a 360.

Halo 3 will be the final straw that breaks the donkey's bank balance. (if its good)

Machiavelli - April 4, 2007 05:28 AM (GMT)
In the OXM, a demo was announced for sometime in April.

I can't wait to experiment with the damage model, Forza 2 looks incredible in all departments so far. But the niggling question still remains, PGR4 or Forza 2? :argh: I'm just not enough of a racing fan to justify purchasing both.

NismoR34 - April 4, 2007 05:58 PM (GMT)
In that case I would almost be inclined to suggest PGR 4 for you Mach, due to it being perhaps more accessible than Forza. Also probably the better game to just pick up and have a burn in, really.

That said, get both you fool! :P

Can't wait for the demo to hit sometime this month and I really hope it comes within the next fortnight. I want to get a feel for how they've improved the handling of the cars over Forza 1. Speaking of handling, was it because of the tyre physics Civ that made you feel that the handling was too touchy?

As for your car, how can you blame me for that when it was the damn game? :P

dave_cool31 - April 9, 2007 12:59 AM (GMT)
I'm definitely getting this game, or that is to say, my bro will get it. But regardless, I'll play it whenever I get the chance cos it's gonna be awesome and Forza 1 was totally rad.

_MetalliX_ - April 9, 2007 03:03 AM (GMT)
Of the few games I've planned to download, this has been one of them. I was really disappointed that it wasn't available on Live yet.

NismoR34 - April 9, 2007 06:08 PM (GMT)
^ It will be though. Apparently there's a demo coming in the near future, perhaps even this week so keep an eye out for it. :)

Drake - April 12, 2007 11:57 AM (GMT)
Another downloadable content scam? There was news 2-3 months ago that they wouldnt have as many cars and tracks in the game as they had originally announced, it's obviously a case of the developers leaving stuff out, only to release that stuff a few weeks later for extra cash... so you have to pay double for having a complete game!?

Well... in the 1up.com video they kinda talk about it, and are already saying how much it will cost THEM and that it will most probably also cost US money, to buy these packs.

Where did the good old days go where you had 100 bucks, there was a game you'd like, so you'd go to the store and spend the 100 bucks, and that was it: you would have a good, complete game. I just hate this stuff. It's such a rip-off. I dont wanna pay 100 bucks for a half game, after which you will have to buy extra packs through marketplace to get the whole collection of cars.

I'm sure Forza 2 will be amazingly great... but TBH, I'm not sure if I wanna be a part of this skeem...

NismoR34 - April 12, 2007 04:21 PM (GMT)
Are you nuts?

Ever since Xbox Live, or even online games as whole (PC) have been around, downloadable content has been around. Whether the content costs or not depends on who is behind the game receiving the content, and whether the content is of any worth to you or not is entirely up to you.

Don't get the car packs or whatever content happens to be in Forza 2 if you don't think you want to pay money for them, but, don't deprive yourself of the game as a whole purely because they are doing this. You'll still be getting all of the tracks that have been announced as being in game, with the retail version. Same applies to all of the cars that have so far been announced as well so it's not like they're only releasing 10 cars and then adding another 5 or so per pack. They're giving you the game in it's entirety and then ADDING content for those who want it, rather than because they 'forgot' to include it in game.

Shivering Isles can be another example, that's additional content.

DJ-Civic - April 12, 2007 04:57 PM (GMT)
I'm sure ForTza 2 (:P) will have downloadable cars and I'll probably get them, but it will also depend what cars are in what car packs. I got all the PGR3 car packs as the cars where worth it and they're not that expensive. I wonder if there'll be extra tracks to download too?

And YES Nismo, I want my R34 back! <_<

NismoR34 - April 12, 2007 05:09 PM (GMT)
Come down here then and ask my game disc (or Xbox) nicely for it. :P

borgster101 - April 13, 2007 12:36 AM (GMT)
I thought Civic lived in QLD and Nismo in ACT? Come down here?

Qubert - April 13, 2007 03:00 AM (GMT)
These guys have obviously discovered teleportation! :P

BrotherEstapol - April 13, 2007 03:09 AM (GMT)
Otherwise known as "Australia Post". ;)

Qubert - April 13, 2007 03:14 AM (GMT)
^this guy has obviously discovered how to be a smart arse. :P

DJ-Civic - April 16, 2007 06:01 PM (GMT)
No, Estapol's just dislexic. :P

Anyway, what's the release date on this thing for us?

Well, Queensland is North of the ACT, is it not? :P

Civ: Turn 10 (the developers) have stated on their website that they want to give Forza 2 a worldwide release in May. So while that doesn't confirm whether that will be the date for us or not, there's a good chance that it will be and it's the one I'm going to follow until I hear otherwise. IGN and similar sites believe it will be out on the 15th, maybe 16th of May but Turn 10 haven't confirmed that. Either way though the game is basically due to go Gold very soon. :D

On another note, PALGN have been saying for some time now that we won't be seeing it until July but yeah I find that hard to believe because of what Turn 10 have said previously, and the fact that it's close to going Gold.

StueyRowls - April 17, 2007 02:13 AM (GMT)
Yeah I'm pretty sure we will see the game released in May like the rest of the world.

For those who didn't see, Turn 10 released a partial list of the cars that will be in the demo:
1997 BMW Motorsport M3 E36
2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
2003 Dodge Viper SRT10
2003 Dodge SRT4
2004 Ferrari F430
2005 Ford Ford GT
2005 Ford Mustang GT
2002 Honda Integra Type-R
2005 Lamborghini Gallardo
2006 Lexus IS350
2004 Mazda RX-8 Mazdaspeed
2005 Mercedes SLR
2003 Nissan Fairlady Z
2007 Porsche 911 Turbo (997)
2005 Subaru Legacy B4 2.0 GT
2005 TVR Sagaris

QUOTE (Turn 10)
These 16 cars A and C class cars will be completed by 8 more Race class beasts for a full list of 24 demo vehicles.

Pretty damn awesome collection of cars for a free demo if you ask me.

Resident-Seven - April 17, 2007 02:45 AM (GMT)
I never actually played the first one, but I'm fairly certain I'll be getting this one. :)

Incredible list, I didn't think we'd get half that. :o Honestly, I don't want a release date for the demo, I just want it to appear in the marketplace by surprise. Right now, i'm guessing sometime during next week which suits me fine as i'm currently capped.

Apprently the demo will be released around the same time the game gets sent to Microsoft for certification, therefore it should be around 1-2 weeks away

Those shots are allegedly from this press event in Japan. Graphics have been given a significant boost upwards since that event according to the devs.

Which car are you going to start the game with? Well if there's enough money at the start of the game, I'm gonna go for either the 1990 Mazda Savanna RX-7 or the 1995 Volkswagen Corrado VR6. If there isn't enough money for one of these then sheesh, I dunno.

I'd take the Legacy B4 for sure. I'd be super impressed if they had the STi version.

Quatters - April 20, 2007 04:52 AM (GMT)
Getting a 360 is becoming more of a reality each day, and Forza would be top of my buying list, I'd say one of the non-GTR Skyline if they have any.
If not a Silvia/180SX would be sweet.

NismoR34 - April 22, 2007 03:56 PM (GMT)
A few things that you lot may be interested in.

- Forza 2's final carlist has been revealed and it's looking like a very nice lineup of cars for our disposal. I'm a bit disappointed to see a lack of some of the more recent car models, such as the newer editions of the Koenigsegg and the Pagani Zonda, but obviously there will be downloadable content in the future so with any luck we will be seeing cars like those in future packs.

- Expect the demo sometime this week guys as apparently it has been submitted to Microsoft for certification and because it's a demo, it won't take too long to hit the Marketplace at all. Speaking of the demo, it will only feature the one track (which is a bit unfortunate) but hey it's a demo and will give a good indication of how it looks, how it runs and ultimately, how it feels. Especially with all those cars being confirmed for it. :)

- The official website for the game has also released a video of some replay footage of a race that one of the Turn 10 guys had. It's looking pretty nice in that although I do admit that I would have preferred to see actual gameplay footage rather than replay footage. Only because it would give a better indication of how the game is shaping up but hey, that's what the demo is for!

- Last but not least, the game has been confirmed for a release on the 29th of May. Well in America anyway but again, Turn 10 (the developers) have stated a few times now that they want to release the game worldwide at the same time so until I hear otherwise, May 29th is our Australian date too. The game is getting closer guys and oh my god I can't wait!

DJ-Civic - April 25, 2007 06:05 PM (GMT)
I reckon I'll be starting in the Asian class as it has my favourite cars. Might consider Europe as it also has some nice cars in there, but there's no way I'm going with U.S cars. Ugh.

StueyRowls - April 27, 2007 01:45 AM (GMT)
I'll probably start in either asian or europe class as well, depending on what each offers initially. However, i'll probably go with the european class as I really want the BMW E36 M3 :P

Also, the European release date has been announced as the 8th June.

NismoR34 - April 27, 2007 06:02 PM (GMT)
While obviously I'd prefer the game to hit on the 29th for us as well, having only a week or so extra to wait isn't so bad I think. Definitely better than waiting a month or two for the game that is for sure.

Kinda disappointed the demo didn't release this week but it will come when it comes, I guess.

Oh and I'll probably start in the Asian class so I can get my hands on a 350z as soon as possible. :D

Anastasios912 - May 3, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
This game looks sweet! So realistic, I can't wait!

I do wish they'd have the Nissan Altima though..I'd love to use my car in the game :-/

They had it in Forza 1...

DJ-Civic - May 4, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
I wish they'd include the whole GT-R range of cars, not just the R34.
So when's the demo due, Nis? :P

NismoR34 - May 4, 2007 07:33 PM (GMT)
STFU! :P

No idea when the demo is coming as it's in Microsoft's hands now, not Turn 10's.

BrotherEstapol - May 5, 2007 05:00 AM (GMT)
I want this damned demo! :P
