Title: Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At Worlds End
Random Hero - March 28, 2007 10:30 AM (GMT)

When I watched the trailer, I squealed with glee when I saw a clip of Bloom looking so much like a pirate with the bandana on his head, hey, i'm just one hell of a pirate fan! Question...will the third installment be the final one? Also, I found this on youtube and it cracks me up everytime! You gotta watch it.

It's the final one for the moment, they may decied to do others later, and damn I hope they do.
Random Hero - March 28, 2007 10:48 AM (GMT)
Same here. For such a BIG movie I'm surprised that they haven't put much marketing into it. The movie comes out in two months and we JUST now have gotten the trailer. There was no teaser trailer and I haven't seen any posters. The film is guaranteed to be a hit and they don't really even need advertising, but still...
_MetalliX_ - March 28, 2007 11:25 AM (GMT)
I wasn't particularly impressed by the first two movies. Especially by how the second ended in such a disappointing "to be continued" manner. I mean they weren't bad, but it certainly did surprise me when I found out it had broken box office records.
Random Hero - March 28, 2007 01:38 PM (GMT)
I think it broke records because it appeals to a wide range of people including a large portion of teeny bopper girls who go to see "johnny". It's like a family, action, adventure, comedy, drama etc. it's so easily appealing.

Since nobody's bothered posting a proper trailer,
here's one on Youtube. Looks alright but at the same time seems to be the weakest of the 3, still I'll definately be seeing this in the cinemas :)
I noticed that the Resident Evil 3 trailer is out now too, but as usual whenever a new quicktime movie clip appears, I have to update my software :(
NismoR34 - March 28, 2007 05:09 PM (GMT)
Can't wait to see this later in the year. Pirates of the Caribbean is easily one of my favourite movies ever, although then again I don't see all that many movies so yeah. Dead Man's Chest was also brilliant if you ask me, so definitely eager to see At World's End.

Completely agree, I've seen the first 2 so many times I've lost count. All this cfill hanger talk isn't really worth mentioning either, after you see the second movie, the first movie looks unfinished too. A perfect continueation IMO.
The reason there hasn't been a lot of advertising for it is simple, it just doesn't need it... It'll beat Spider-Man 3 at the box-office without out them even spending half the amount on marketing.

I'm kind of torn about the whole issue; I really love PotC, and so it would be cool if it could just continue on forever, but then it might start to get bad if they made a fourth, which would taint the previous three movies. Then again, maybe the fourth movie would be really spectacular, so who knows?
Resident-Seven - April 5, 2007 07:01 AM (GMT)
As long as Gore, Johnny and the same writers come back, I think they would maintain their quality.
borgster101 - April 5, 2007 01:22 PM (GMT)
I thought the second movie had a rather shit ending, but was overall still a good movie, still looking foward to the third.
Cubeoid - April 6, 2007 03:17 AM (GMT)
I loved the first one. Dead Mans Chest was pretty cool but I don't think it was as good as the original. Still, I can't wait for this one just because it promises to be one of those fun cinema experiences.

Indeed, in my view, Dead Man's Chest was just that, and it didn't please me nearly as much as the first.
Resident-Seven - April 6, 2007 06:27 AM (GMT)
I loved DMC even more that CotBP. :D
Qubert - April 6, 2007 07:33 AM (GMT)
Really!? I hated the fact they just had sparrow doing these silly loony toon-like stunts. Not putting him in different critical situations that display his cunning and convincing negotiation skills and his quick-thinking.
DZ - April 6, 2007 10:42 AM (GMT)
I liked both the first and second movie but I do agree the second's ending sucked and left me wanting more. So I can't wait for the 3rd film. Jack Sparrow is an awesome character.

I disagree, the ending of the first movie tied up all the loose ends, infact I was surprised when they announced the sequels (I wasn't aware of the popularity of the movie).
Where as the ending of Dead Man's Chest was like "And then he walked down the staircase ... ... ..." "and?" "can you wait 6 months?". >_>
I am anticipating At Worlds End though.
Ali G - April 9, 2007 12:46 PM (GMT)
I only saw the second one in French, and I missed the last 10 minutes (don't ask), so I honestly don't have much of an idea what was happening in that movie, other than stuff about Davey Jones' heart being a valuable thing. I might have to go hire it out again before this comes out.
Resident-Seven - April 12, 2007 01:38 AM (GMT)
That would be the smart thing to do.
Random Hero - May 1, 2007 06:34 AM (GMT)
Is Captain Sao Feng a racist asian caricature? I just saw a pic of Chow Yun Fat, and he looks like a stereotypical caricature of an ancient evil Chinese warlord or something. Does anyone know if this character is yet another racist portrayal of the yellow man?

Pretty much exactly what I was going to say.

Uhh, no more
"racist" than his role in crouching tiger hidden dragon.
It's a period peice...everyone in the film's a damned caricature. Just cause he's a
Chinese pirate doesn't make it racist.
I mean if he was walking around sticking his front teeth out with his eyes squinted and talking in a really bad Engrish accent, then yes, that's racist. But I don't think Disney would green-light something like that, nor do I think that Mr. Fat would accept a role like that if it was so insulting to his culture.
Sao Feng is based on a
real person mind you...
chi*skittles - May 15, 2007 06:42 AM (GMT)
I think the 3rd movie will be the last.. It just has that feeling to it.. But I don't care ^^ I just want to see Depp back as Jack Sparrow ^0^

I'm so tempted, but I don't want to spoil it. I'll wait for the cinema.
FreakTrigger - May 15, 2007 11:27 PM (GMT)
For the love of god, just give us more Geoffrey Rush!

It's just a "behind the scenes" thing, no major spoilers in there from what I saw. (the file I downloaded was corrupt, and the 2nd video didn't work)
D43M0N - May 21, 2007 09:18 AM (GMT)
Bought my ticket online, 1:30PM on Thursday :dance3:
170 minute runtime makes me a bit weary though. Luckily I won a free combo upgrade, so a large Coke and popcorn instead of medium is winnar :dance3:
Resident-Seven - May 21, 2007 10:21 PM (GMT)
170? Fucking sweet.
I'm seeing this twice on Thursday, first session in the morning, then the next one after that. Can't fucking wait.

That's majorly keen - I'll admit I'm all warm and giggly inside at the thought of more Geoffrey Rush though.
Resident-Seven - May 22, 2007 12:07 AM (GMT)
You have no idea. I'll be seeing it again on the following Tuesday as well. :D Yes, I'm that excited, and that sure that it'll rock.
I saw DMC 3 times in the cinema.

:o I'll probably still go but POTC 2 had a lot of nonsense scenes they could've taken out and have no effect on the movie at all. Hope these 176 are meaningful. THIS IS THE CARRIBEAN!!! (I couldn't resist)
Resident-Seven - May 22, 2007 02:09 PM (GMT)
Nah, I didn't find any of either of the first movies boring. Just my opinion though.
A couple of things that make me predict this is going to be huge are;
1) The massive amount DMC made in cinemas, people just kept going back to it (not many movies break $400m in America).
2) The DVDs sold like hot cakes, breaking records all over the place. Meaning, people still loved the movie.
3) Opens on Memorial Day Weekend in America, Sunday acts like a second Saturday, meaning a lot more money.
Anyway, this time next week we'll know the figures.
Resident-Seven - May 22, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
Well, I won't be seeing the second session, as it goes in before the first comes out. SO I'll be seeing the 10:45 and 2:!5 ones. They don't often have 2 film roll in a 5 screen cinema.
NismoR34 - May 23, 2007 06:53 PM (GMT)
I on the other hand have absolutely no idea when I will be going to see this, as, well, I have no one to go with this time around. Girlfriend is over in New Zealand so yeah no one else to go with. I could go by myself and probably will end up doing so, but yeah anyway.
Can't wait to see it though. I've been watching the first 2 a few times lately to get into the 'spirit' of things.
Decman - May 23, 2007 07:53 PM (GMT)
Argh, perfect timing for PotC3. Me and my friends all want to see it but because of my damned exams, I have to stay in. I just hope that it'll still be around in the cinema by the end of June. :(
D43M0N - May 23, 2007 11:37 PM (GMT)
3 and a half hours to go :dance3:
Robert - May 24, 2007 04:25 AM (GMT)
I heard it's "Confusing and muddled third part loses its sense of fun" RUH-OH! Jesus himself couldn't stop me from seeing it though. :D
Resident-Seven - May 24, 2007 07:48 AM (GMT)
Whoever said that is a fucking idiot.
9/10 from me. I'll expand my thoughts after it has had time to sink in. :D
NismoR34 - May 24, 2007 05:07 PM (GMT)
^ Just no spoilers eh? :P
