Title: Kingdom Hearts II - E3 - *Possible 56k Warning*
Description: AURON! =P *screams like a schoolgirl*
Comrade Natrak - May 11, 2004 07:35 AM (GMT)

That's a hell of a lot of Heartless!

*ORGASMS* HOLY CRAP! It's AURON!!!!!!!!!

Judging from the menu that'd have to be the Colloseum, or at least the world that the Colloseum is situated in.

That Chandelier is a dead give away, that's definately a world based on Beauty and the Beast.
The IGN article said there isn't much to report on Kingdom Hearts II at the moment aside from the showing of a trailer. Apparantly it's going to be playable though so they'll have a hands-on preview later on in the show.
EDIT: Imposter Screens removed.
/backslash - May 11, 2004 08:21 AM (GMT)
what the?! what's Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist doing in there?!
Comrade Natrak - May 11, 2004 08:45 AM (GMT)
Hmm, perhaps IGN have their screens mixed up, because the visuals are a fair bit different to that in Kingdom Hearts :/
tinklez - May 11, 2004 09:22 AM (GMT)
Lolz, that's IGN for ya. :P
Here's some screenies from Gamespot -- click on the thumbnails
Machiavelli - May 11, 2004 10:43 AM (GMT)
Nice screens! I'm really hoping for status ailments, and many more spells, you know, stuff to make combat more interesting.
Comrade Natrak - May 11, 2004 10:46 AM (GMT)
I just noticed the 'Drive' meter on Sora's stats, perhaps a limit-break system is going to be implemented.

*stares at them*
yes they are, thought that status screen was familiar, it's the japanese version of anime's Full Metal Alchemist which has been released for quite a while now

Gilder - May 11, 2004 11:38 AM (GMT)
Truth be told, I actually did enjoy the final hours of Kingdom Hearts.
*watches Natrak go into shock*
Hallow Bastion was a well designed level, and the heartless designs such as the defender and the wyverin were interesting and fun to fight. Plus abilities such as glide opened up the level design of other areas and made the platforming engine much more forgiving (which was much needed from the beginning due to it's half-arsed implementation). The End of the World and the final boss battles were also frantic fun, which reduced me to an adrenilane fueled shaking mess upon finishing the game. Finally, the story also came unto it's own because Square stopped trying to be Disney, which they are obviously not, and the story was patented Square material with Disney just used as a reference point.
It makes me wonder why I had to put up with 20 hours of absolute shit to get to the good stuff though. Hopefully Square can make the whole of KH2 like the final hours of the original, but I sincerely doubt they will. I mean they wont get rid of that stupid command window for start. I'll remain skeptical.

I'm glad you enjoyed the latter half of the game Gilder. I told you there was some good in it! :P
I've done a bit of theorising on the plot from what little clues have been given in the trailer and the two teasers 'Another Side, Another Story' and 'Deep Dive'. If any of it is on the mark (and chances are most of it isn't :P) we could be in for one very interesting story.
DJ-Civic - May 11, 2004 12:37 PM (GMT)
Screens look nice. :)
And I'm probably one of the few who didn't like the original. I found it to be quite boring, repetative and simplistic. -_- Shame as I'm somewhat of a fan of some Disney characters...
Ghazrat - May 12, 2004 10:27 AM (GMT)
*faints from lack of fluids from drooling so much*
God damn I want this game!!! Don't suppose anyone's heard anything about a release timeframe for it?

Your av is quite fitting at the moment Gilder, loooking all ashamed and guilty and what-not. :P
MrRae - May 12, 2004 11:09 AM (GMT)
Heh, I'll probably get this game just for Auron :P
I'm sure it's good too though :)

Don't get me wrong Miss G, I still don't think Kingdom Hearts is a good game. 2/3 of the game is utter crap, and the last 1/3 isnt so mind blowing that it changes my opinion of the game. But if KH2 turns out more like the latter parts of the original, we might just have a game on our hands.
Plus my avatar is supposed to be mischievous. <_<
BrotherEstapol - May 15, 2004 12:17 PM (GMT)
So guess the rumours of this being GCN bound were false then?
Also, weren't Square-Enix meant to be showing a new GCN game at E3?

Loved the first, and the sequal has charm written all over it. I still can't believe how much the PS2's graphics have improved.

Comrade Natrak - June 19, 2004 05:04 AM (GMT)
Believe me, seeing Auron in all his Kingdom Hearts II glory did it for me in a BIG way :P ;)
Cerebral - June 19, 2004 01:09 PM (GMT)
That was actually aimed more at the orgasm rather than Auron. ^^

Damn Ghaz, where the hell have you been? Thanks for the link though. :)
Sephiroth - May 6, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)
Well, to tell you the truth.. I really am disappointed about almost NOTHING of this game, the only thing that really bothers me is the fact, that Square Enix has released a total of 10 TRAILERS of this game. We've seen to much.. Although I myself have already been playing this game since 2 weeks.. The story itself is what I find full of suprises and lots, what I say, TONS of videos in between (Hope you like videos). I can already tell you some things about the game, but there are spoilers.. So I'm warning you!
***SPOILER WARNING***
There are some famous characters back in this version of Kingdom Hearts; There are twice as much Final Fantasy characters in this story, such as Auron, Tifa, Seifer and so on. Of course there are some old ones, and yes, Sephiroth is back as well (...) such is Cloud, Yuffie, Leon and so on.
Drive Forms are something new in Kingdom Hearts 2. Sora can fuse with Donald or Goofy to become a new sort of warrior. There is a total of 4 forms you can obtain through the game.
Limits are attacks you can use together with your team mates. You can use several attacks that can only be performed together with for example Donald, Goofy, Auron and so on. There are 7 magic spells, Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, Cure, Magnet, Reflect and Summon. There are 4 Summons, those are Peter Pan, Stitch, Genie and Chicken Little.
The storyline is very strange, and you'll probably don't get a ^%$& of the story once you begin. It's a story full of suprises, you'll find that out.
The worlds now are a few new, and a few old. The new ones, Land of Dragons (Mulan), Space Paranoids (Tron), Disney Castle (Kingdom Hearts 1), Beast's Castle (Beauty and the Beast), Port Royal (Pirates of the Carribean), Timeless River (Stoamboat Willie), Pride Lands (Lion King), Twilight Town and The World That Never Was. The old worlds are Hollow Bastion, Olympus Coliseum, Agrabah, Hundred Acre Wood, Atlantica and Halloween Town.
The fighting System has been inproved as you could've readed above, and those attacks you must use of course... Against enemies! There are now two types of enemies in the game, Heartless (Those with a Dark Heart) and Nobodies (Those without Hearts). The thing here is quite a long story, you should find it out on your own journey xD You can fight many bosses, and in this game, there's only one (to my disappointment) optional boss in this game, and that is Sephiroth.
Hope I filled you in about the most important things about a very good game.
***SPOILER ENDING***
NismoR34 - May 6, 2006 04:40 PM (GMT)
You have already been a good addition to these boards, Sephiroth. Although I didn't read your spoilers as I am currently making my way through the ever so awesome Kingdom Hearts. I don't want it spoiled. ;)
But yeah, good post.
Sephiroth - May 6, 2006 05:05 PM (GMT)
Hehe thanks :)
By the way what is the release date for Kingdom Hearts II for you guys? (Australia eh? xD)
NismoR34 - May 6, 2006 05:17 PM (GMT)
We don't have an official one yet unfortunately. Rumours have been suggesting an August or September release although to be honest I don't think we have a chance of that happening.
My prediction is that we'll be seeing Kingdom Hearts II in November and then Square's other big title, Final Fantasy XII, sometime in 2007.

Well.. To tell you the truth, Kingdom Hearts II is set for a Release Date around October for Holland.. But I already got my copy from someone in America..
Too bad for you guys though that it will possibly be out in 2007..
Random Hero - May 8, 2006 05:09 AM (GMT)
i have to say it is insane how we dont have this game yet i mean its huge, getting good reviews and will sell well......why the delay??
/backslash - May 8, 2006 02:35 PM (GMT)
Universal translations I'd say is the reason for the delay. Like the guy who has to convert the text to french/german/italian/binary
I think it's ridiculous that our PAL terroritories get mixed with Europe because if you live in australia, you should be able to speak/read english anyway! It's getting bloody annoying with current DVDs too, just today I booted up King Kong (the movie, not the game) and it asks me whether I want my menu subtitles to be in English/Arabic/Icelandic !
Do I look ARABIAN to you?! And how many arabs would watch King Kong anyway considering 99% of them are terrorists. Doesn't make any sense..

Whoa nelly! Let's not generalise. ;)
Sephiroth - May 8, 2006 03:14 PM (GMT)
OMFG King Kong is just out there? =|
That's kind of.. lame =P
Anyway, I find it quite useless making all those translations for it.. -__-'' I mean come on.. Everyone can read and hear English.. I played the game by English speaking and English subtitles.. I could follow the story completely.. Oh well.. I'm really sorry for you guys though. And for all the people in this country.. Some of them would be quite mad at me if they find out I'm already playing about two and a half week xD
BrotherEstapol - May 8, 2006 03:29 PM (GMT)
Nah King Kong came out a while back now. ;)
Drake - July 13, 2006 05:56 AM (GMT)
