Title: PC Gadget Wackiness
Manny M - May 11, 2004 02:46 AM (GMT)
Here's a thread you can place all the wacky PC related gadgets out there.
Currently I only have one to show you, but it's obscure enough to grant the existence of this thread alone...well I think so anyway.
Behold, the PC EZ-Bake Oven.
Yes, you heard me, an EZ Bake OVEN for a PC, which fits into your PC's 5 1/4" bay...right below your DVD drive :|
Also included is "PC Ez-Cook", the open-source oven controller software with hundreds of easy and creative recipes for your PC Ez-Bake oven, and even a fuzzy-logic cooking control system to precisely measure the doneness of your cake, cookie, or cheese souffle.
This thing is made by the "unusual" guys over at
Think Geek.com

I'm featuring this on my journal, what a great idea! Take it to a LAN party and play while your mini cupcakes are cooking!

I think so as well, unless if somehow transfers the heat from the inside of the case onto your muffin.

If that's so, I know a few people who could heat their muffins/cupcakes really quickly

Woohoo! This is what I wanted a little while ago!
Desktop Rover
| QUOTE |
Inspired by NASA's planetary exploration program, this miniature 'caterpillar drive' ROVer (Remote Operated Vehicle), belongs officially in the 'way too cool' category.
These mini remote controlled desktop rovers with tank treads are only 4 inches long and ready to explore the "Alien Landscapes" around your home or office. The pocket sized radio control transmitter and Desktop Rover Micro-Vehicle are great for the cubefarm, at a picnic, or even in the server room.
Independent control of the rubber tracks enables the rover to spin in place and precisely maneuver in ways that wheeled vehicles cannot. An obstacle course created from everyday items will provide endless challenge - all at a moments notice. With plenty of torque, the rover can push and climb over objects like a mechanical billygoat. Its Radio Controlled Fun that can fit in your pocket! And it won't take over your closet space - The storage case fits on your bookshelf!

Would someone care to explain to me the reason behind treating your PC like a rice rocket?
It seems ever since The Fast And The Furious, putting a fluro in everything you own is cool.
This isn't meant to offend those that have done this, I'm sure it looks kick ass, but what's the reason for having your keyboard glow like the northern lights?
Any help would be appreciated. ;)

I've never been a fan of the whole case modding thing. As long as it works and stays quiet, i'm happy with that.

Maybe soon they'll start making aftermarket mufflers for your puta? :P
*VRROOOOOM PSSSHHT*
That EZ bake oven is a terrible idea! Just buy a bloody microwave!! As for those remote control things, while they appear as nothing more than glorified remote control cars, remote control cars kick arse, especially glorified ones. Awesome! :D But what exactly does it have to do with computers?
_MetalliX_ - May 12, 2004 08:53 AM (GMT)
Trin, they are miniature tanks, which can be programmed by a computer over the internet and told what to do, the upgraded version also has a camera in-built which streams footage of what it sees to the pc, my dreams of spying into girls locker room may come true yet! ^_^

And how much might these little gizmos cost?
TrinityJayOne - May 12, 2004 03:01 PM (GMT)
And what sort of wacky transmitters would you require t send the data to it? Or does it make it's way onto the computer desk and read the instructions off the screen? :P
The ghost who walks - May 13, 2004 08:03 AM (GMT)
i might get one of those mini ovens... :P
BrotherEstapol - May 15, 2004 09:02 AM (GMT)
Well I have
one of these.(128mb)

It is atually VERY handy, it's far more easier to use than a CD-RW.
I also have a
regular USB storage device(256mb) which I have installed Paintshop Pro on, so that I can use it at school without getting hassled by the admins. ^_^ (cause technically, it ain't on their network. ;) )

And those ovens are cheap...Dad has a $20 voucher for thinkgeek.com, I think I found what he use it on. ^_^
