Man did I love Super Mario World in all of it's Super Nintendo splendor. With the sole exception of Super Mario RPG, this truly is the gem of the entire Mario series as far as i'm concerned. It still remains timeless, pure unadulterated fun to this very day. You can't fault it really.

Ummm...
*goes to click an option, changes mind, chooses another, changes mind again*

I love them all equally! Can't you add a poll option for that? :P I'll say Super Mario World but asking which one's better and why's it better is a bastard of a question

Super Mario World.

Classic platforming and a more polished experience than SMB3

Mario 64 was an awesome game but I think that 3D platformers are in a different league to 2D ones.

Personally, I like the 2D Marios better. The platforming action was tight, and the games were pure bliss. I personally feel that Nintendo should make a return to these roots, because I feel that the newer platformers are not as fun.

I voted Super Mario 3 because i'm a nes fanboy. :dance3:

They did, NEW Super Mario Bros!

Argh I can't decide this poll :P

Maro 64! What Nintendo had managed to do was create more than just another Mario game, but a totally unique gaming experience as a whole. The game that revolutionized the industry, set a standard for 3D gaming, and pushed us in the right direction was Super Mario 64. It truly is one of the best games ever created and because of such it gets my vote.

Super Mario World

What a timeless classic that is. :)

NismoR34 - March 15, 2007 06:31 PM (GMT)
Damn you Mach! :P

I guess I'll have to go with Super Mario 64 because when I was playing through that, I was at the age where I could finally understand and appreciate games (or gems if you will) for what they were rather than being the little kid that I was when I played Super Mario World or Super Mario 3 (via the Allstars release on SNES). So yeah, SM64 gets my vote purely for that.

All three titles are brilliant though, as you lot all fully know.

As Nismo mentioned all three titles are certainly brilliant, but Super Mario World is the standout in my opinion. It's lengthy, addictive and just so much damn fun.

Super Mario Bros 3 practically perfect in every way

Stevorooni - March 17, 2007 04:07 AM (GMT)
Before our office Super Nintendo was stolen, me and another guy would play SMB3 (In Allstars) and wonder what the designers were thinking when they were coming up with all of Mario's abilites.

They'd be like "Right he'll need to fly, so lets give him a raccoon tail. Then a Tanooki suit so he can turn into a statue. Then let him jump into a giant green sock and bounce around! Then let him dress up as a frog! THIS SHIT IS AWESOME"

Quatters - March 20, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
I'd go for Super Mario World. While all three games are brilliant, it just had that special X factor.
