Title: Disney has gone to shit
Random Hero - March 12, 2007 11:48 AM (GMT)
Disney used to be great. I love the Classic Gold Collection like Robin Hood and Fox and the Hound. But when they started making sequels to classics like Lion King (my all time fave disney movie) and The Little Mermaid I stopped watching.
Disney is focusing too much on romance and not enough on the things that made the older movies great. The new crap like High School Musical just steams me because the movies I love are looked over by smaller kids today.

Disney made 'Pirates of the Carribean', that's something to be proud of. Aside from that though it seems to be a long wait between good movies.
And you know what? I still haven't seen the original Lion King yet, it's one of those things I was meant to get around to but didn't
Resident-Seven - March 12, 2007 08:47 PM (GMT)
Yeah, best ride-to-movie EVER. :P

I love Beauty and the beast.
I personally don't think disney has gone to shit.
I mean, sure, they're not as good as they used to be, but common...PIRATES!!!!!!
That's one hell of a series.
Chancewithinadoubt - March 20, 2007 02:59 AM (GMT)
Their recent movies with the exception of Pirates have been crap...
But I do have to give disney props for all the classics... But maybe that's why they are so great... they are older and we grew up watching those... ... Maybe??

I'll agree, they've gone downhill. Children's entertainment in general has IMO. I mean, where's the good old Rocko's Modern Life and Angry Beavers? No.. we have this new crap.
And movies... bring back the proper animation! 3D animation is good and all, but it's just so overused.

Yeah these days every animated movie is using the 3D, it does seem overused, the only movie that isn't is the Simpsons movie :P

Don't forget Studio Ghibli movies ;) (ex. Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle) They represent why hand drawn is a better option.
And actually the Simpsons movie is in 3D partially, there's a trailer where Homer's driving a 3D wrecking ball crane.

YEah, there are some good examples of animated stuff, but Ghibli films are hardly the big ones of the "Children's" entertainment world.
It's got some feel-good childreny films, but I wouldn't think a child would be able to appreciate the beauty that is Grave of the Fireflies .

I totally agree. There was a Lion King III and even a Lady & The Tramp II. Talk about mindless milking.
I think Toy Story and Hercules have to be my favourites. Even Hercules was 3D for a few seconds in one scene.

High School Musical was possibly the worst thing EVER.
Where as the Emperor's New Groove.. that's possibly the funniest movie of all time.
BrotherEstapol - March 25, 2007 12:23 PM (GMT)
Yes actually, I rather enjoyed that film. :)

My favorite Disney movie has always been Beauty and the Beast. The first one I remember seeing in theaters was The Lion King and I cried. I was four and I got a poster from the theater. :D But yeah, Disney are NOTHING compared to theie former self.

I loved how they used to put the credits in the beginning! Now they have them at the end, and it's dumb music. And like you said, I freaking HATE High School Musical!!!! <_< :fight:
the_lost_one_lucky - April 18, 2007 04:44 AM (GMT)
i think what happened to disney is what has happened to a lot of things at first they were into the whole give stories with morals then it was give stories with some morals and make more cash and now its go with the biggest age group wants/likes and left morals of to the side and only wanted the cash
but that's just what i think
mooses_are_fun - May 1, 2007 01:57 PM (GMT)
Yeah, They really have... The newer animated ones that they have been releasing recently have been crap compared to the Disney Classics. Even if I still, for some reason, love Mulan. @_@
Random Hero - May 1, 2007 02:04 PM (GMT)
Yeah despite a few weak songs Mulan is one of the better recent Disney movies.
