Title: Conker: Live and Reloaded
Description: Bring on that mouth!

Ghost Boy - May 10, 2004 10:02 AM (GMT)
Conker's Bad Fur Day was, for those who managed to play it, one of the great games in the dying days of the N64. It was also the final Rare game on a major Nintendo console, which probably made it that much more special. The main attraction was, of course, the combination of a cute little character with a street kids vocab. The game just straight up rocked!

Rare left the big N for the greener (no pun intended) Xbox pasture and have done little if anything - please correct me if I'm wrong - thus far. Conker: Live and Reloaded is one of the flagship titles they've been hammering away on and will be Live enabled.

This thread is to share screenies & movies you've found, let us in on some inside info you've stumbled upon and generally discuss your hopes/feelings on this upcoming title.

This game is apperently nothing but Conkers Bad Fur Day MKII with slightly spruced up graphics and LIVE enabled.

I'm not sure if this is the case, is so prove me wrong kids, prove me wrong...

Kid Wakelin - May 10, 2004 12:59 PM (GMT)
Yes but the thing is that it hasn't reached the audience it should have, and even re-releasing the game is still a good idea.

It's like remaking Panzer Dragoon Saga. I don't care if it's the same game suped up graphics wise, as it's a gem and more people should have the chance to play this (not to mention give it a chance to sell)

Almighty Beanchild - May 10, 2004 01:34 PM (GMT)
If I hadn't finished the single player mode on 64 I'd probably look at getting this. The multiplayer was fun, but probably not enough alone to warrant a purchase. I heard they were also adding content as well as sprucing up the graphics, anyone know if that's true?

DJ-Civic - May 10, 2004 02:01 PM (GMT)
One of my favourite N64 games. Still have it. :D

I could get an xbox for this game, but i doubt it. Halo 2 seems to be the ticket. ;)

Machiavelli - May 10, 2004 03:01 PM (GMT)
Knowing Rare, it'll be delayed numerous times before its actually release. I've never played it, so i'll definately be picking this one up upon release. :)

[m]averick - May 11, 2004 01:19 AM (GMT)
It looks interesting but for someone who played it on N64 it doesn't seem to warrant a purchase.

Rare at the moment haven't done enough to justify there huge price tag. Where's Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero?

I have to agree with that statement. Honestly, I was only interested in PD Zero as the reason for Rare being purchased.

Rare left the big N for the greener (no pun intended) Xbox pasture.

Not sure how much greener those pastures are, seeing as how they've done next to nothing since leaving Nintendo. If I was Bill Gates I'd kick the arse of the guy who recommended to buy them.

Conker came out in a time when I was finished with my 64, much like Majoras Mask. As much as I wanted to play these games, they took so long to come out I had completely lost interest in the N64, and was looking forward to the Next Gen.

I'll keep an eye out for this though.

Corrected the topic title to it's new official name, Conker: Live and Reloaded.

Even if he wanted to, he couldn't. Ed Fries was the man, and Fries left Microsoft months ago now.

Conker: L&R isn't just a standard port, it's more of a director's cut of the first game. It's no secret that Nintendo forced Rare to remove a considerable amount of material from Conker's Bad Fur Day', because it was just too raunchy and violent for the N64. That's why CBFD was such a short game... initially, it was to be around 15-20 hours long, but Nintendo cut a large amount of it out.

I'll be getting this game, because it's going to be a massively different game visually, and all the removed parts, plus extra sections added in the last year or so will really add to the package. Expect another 5 or so hours of gameplay/cutscenes.

Also, I'm pretty sure the release date of March 2005 is incorrect...

Pauly - May 11, 2004 11:38 AM (GMT)
Conker still remains my favourite 64 game and is definitely up there with my all time favourite games across all platforms. I've finished it a number of times (and I'm currently playing it through again), so I'm eagerly awaiting this gem.

Not only has the engine been completely re-worked (yes that's right, no "slight" alterations, download the new clips for proof) but it's going to include all those extra parts that Nintendo dissalowed. This IMO is enough to warrant the purchase. However the LIVE gameplay should prove to be very entertaining and will no doubt bring much more replay value to the game.

CAN'T WAIT!!!

I have to say though. I will be surprised if its released on the Xbox as opposed to the "Xbox 2".

Pauly - May 11, 2004 01:19 PM (GMT)
I doubt it will be delayed that late. I'd be surprised if we didn't have it by this time next year the very latest.

Moggo - May 11, 2004 02:11 PM (GMT)
Bah, I'm pissed, because they were hinting at a June release date this year.

Not happy.

Ahh, well that just makes it a hell of a lot easier to bump him off now, doesn't it. :drevil:

Actually, Star Fox Adventures was the last Rare game to appear on a major Nintendo console. ;)

I never got around to playing Conker's Bad Fur Day on the Nintendo 64 thus I'm looking forward to this Xbox remake. Playing Conker Live should be a blast as well.

Moggo - May 12, 2004 07:11 AM (GMT)
Confirmed: March 2005.

That's bullshit, in my opinion. Bah, I can't criticise though, because I have no idea what's going on behind the scenes, but look for Conker to appear on Xbox 2.

~DC - May 12, 2004 07:46 AM (GMT)
There is only so much defending of Rare I can do before I start casting doubts over what the fuck is happening in the company at present.

Pherhaps that would be a valid comment if he said "Nintendo console". What he said was "major Nintendo console" so it's all based on opinon really. :D :P

I really enjoyed Conker's Bad Fur Day on the N64, and this "remake" if you will on the Xbox looks pretty cool.

Apparantly the multiplayer mode is completly reworked and going to be a much better experience than the N64 game, whilst the single player game essentially a remake of BFD.

From the screens I have seen, with such amazing graphics it'll be worth to go through again even if it's just to see all the recongnisable places in richer presentation, at least a rental. Hopefully there will be some new gameplay elements to the single player like with REmake to warrant a purchase :D

ARGH!! :nooo:

That looks so cool! Maybe just a bit better than the N64 version.... :P

Pauly - June 9, 2004 12:44 PM (GMT)
Wait till you see it in motion :cheese:

DJ-Civic - June 9, 2004 01:12 PM (GMT)
I just saw it in motion and Conker looks great! :D Very furry. The lighting also looks top notch.
Although Rare seems to be using the exact same voice audio from the N64 version. It could be being used as a place holder though.

borgster101 - June 10, 2004 12:54 AM (GMT)
I read that the same "voice actor" thats right actor will be re recording all the voice work for the game, (like with MGS:TS) possibly with added dialogue. :)

Pauly - June 10, 2004 05:31 AM (GMT)
There's definitely extra dialogue because they never recorded the extra parts that will be added in this game.

borgster101 - June 10, 2004 11:59 AM (GMT)
Well they did, but they were just bleeped out ;)

_MetalliX_ - June 11, 2004 03:22 AM (GMT)
This game looks as though it has come a far way from the initial screenshots which were released close to the announcement of this game, this will prove to be both a fun and hilarious multiplayer romp I'm sure once its released.

I for one hope that they do keep the voices from the original, they were absolutely perfect for the characters.

I've downloaded more than a few clips so I can confirm they are using the same voices :)

Yeah they are. Conker's voice was/is spot on. :)

I still remember playing this, it was so cool. I loved The Matrix spoof level in it.

No they aren't.

Chris Seavor (also designer) and Louise Alexandrer, who did every single voice in the original game are re-recording all the voice samples, etc. I don't know where you got your info from, but it's wrong.

The game is still a year off so the new voice recordings would not be in place just yet. And anyway, the recordings would sound so inferior compared to the newly -re-recorded soundtrack... mixing both would be an aural nightmare.

Manny M - June 12, 2004 02:29 AM (GMT)
I think they meant "voices" as in voice actors, not the original sound that was on the N64.

borgster101 - June 12, 2004 03:37 AM (GMT)
Yeah, same voice actors which are re recording the voices. (So there where 2 actors then.. )

Still a year off?! I thought it was definitely going to be released this year.

Actually I downloaded a few clips from IGN (including ones with cutscenes including the gargoyle and scarecrow parts) and I heard the exact same voices from the 64 version. Unless they're planning on changing them, they're using the exact same recorded voices for those parts that were in the 64 version.

EDIT: Either that or the re-recordings are exactly the same as the originals :P

_MetalliX_ - June 19, 2004 01:35 PM (GMT)
Pãúlÿ, I think they would most probably just be using those as placeholders, but basically what I want is still there. Obviously they wouldn't go and simply take the voices from CBFD and stick them in the new game, they would definantly be re-recording them.

Pauly - June 19, 2004 01:40 PM (GMT)
Either way it shouldn't be too different.
