I prefer Ninja Gaiden and not for visual reasons alone. There is no denying both have absolutely stellar gameplay, but I believe Ninja Gaiden's challenge is superior therefore more rewarding in the end. For instance, Dante Must Die! mode is really the only way to extract longevity. With Normal and Hard I found myself going on an all-out offensive with very little trouble, whereas Ninja Gaiden needs more strategy and caution, any recklessness you're dead.

Ninja Gaiden 8/16bit = win.

Haven't played DMC sadly, however Ninja Gaiden is an awesome series :D

Never really played Ninja Gaiden aside from ye olde' version and an Xbox demo but it just really wasn't my type of game. Devil May Cry for me (even though I was pretty terrible at it I still enjoyed the franchise)

I like ninjas. I like Ninja-Gaiden. :P Although admittedly a little rock hard, like Mach said, it requires a little more strategy than DMC. I've only played DMC2, and I thought it was just a tad on the *BANGBANGBANGBANGSLICEBANGBANGSLICEBANGSLICE* side. But mixing swords and guns is always cool. :D

Wrong game to play. DMC 1 or 3 but definately not 2! Easily the weakest by far

I like em both; DMC is a terrific and fun game, not to mention challenging and Ninja Gaiden is just as fun and tough. I guess the deciding factor would be if you prefer gunplay/swords to strictly melee weapons.

Ninjas are fucking cool and well, so is Ninja Gaiden.

But, I have to give this one to Devil May Cry (as a franchise). It's fast first and foremost, something that I thrive on (speed), it features demons and has Devil in the name (awesomeness), and it has a soundtrack with Metal influences.

It's my type of game, hands down. Even though I suck at it. ;)

But yeah, DMC for me as I've had more fun with that. That and well if I suck at DMC, you can imagine how badly I suck at Ninja Gaiden. (but it's still an awesome game)

Ninja Gaiden is a great game. I even considered buying an Xbox just for it. And I will once I get a job :P

I played it for about 3-4 hours at my friends house, and it so god damn awesome.

DMC I never really got into, so this ones a no brainer.

Well i have played niether, so I'm just going on reviews. They both got good reviews.

But Ninja Gaiden has ninjas. So it gets my vote.

They are both shit but I do like ninjas, so gaiden.

I love both series, but i enjoyed Ninja Gaiden Black more so...

NG has got this one in the bag. ;)
