Title: The fall of Sonic...

Qubert - February 7, 2007 03:41 AM (GMT)
Does anybody here miss how awesome Sonic used to be? He used to be the shit back then! Now, he's pretty much treated as a joke and most of the Sonic games these days suck hard!

Attention Sega, bring Sonic back to the glory days before you make him the laughing stock of the video game world!!

Look out for Sonic and the Secret Rings for Wii, (comes out in March) it looks like its going to bring Sonic back to his glory days!

Mighty should have been in Sonic Heroes...although I wouldn't mind Metal Knux back either, they need to bring back some characters or its all over

Weres i quite enjoy playing Sonic games so im waiting for Sonic and the Secret Rings, i reckon will be coool. and with the wii very enertaining...

Well I have Secret Rings and played through it, and its fairly good but not fantastic, certainly one of the better Sonic games in recent years, but it's not a comeback to brilliance either.

Sonic has to be in Super Smash Bros. Brawl to revitalize his status. That combined with the Bioware RPG should bring my blue little friend back to the forefront of gaming. :D

This is very true, Sonic still has hope, that Olympics game might be cool, but Sonic should really be in Smash!

I dont think Sonic will fall, it will make a comeback in one way or another... Certainly everyone has played Sonic and enjoyed it, so they are a succesful in what they do.

And whats this about a Olympic game ? Dont see how that works, Sonic in olympics ? Would like to see how that works.

Sonic doing 1000metres in a couple of seconds :)

The Olympics game is:

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games, first game with both Mario and Sonic together on Wii and DS. Yeah I dont get how Mario stands a chance in a sprint race with Sonic either :P

The Olympics game seems really dumb, basically a mario party re-hash with a different setting. Meh.

I know some people thought this might have been a joke especially because it was announced in April I think but it's real. Go to Sega's website and there's a page for it as well as the E3 Trailer. It's really coming out at the end of this year.

My 1998 gut instinct told me it could never be...

But then I remembered Sega will do anything for money these days.

*sigh*

Sonic doesn't have a world that's as interesting as Mario's? I think it's mostly that Mario's world retained it's fantasy theme, while Sonic's world seemed to become a parallel Earth with furries, powerful gems, etc slapped on.

I never could really get into the Sonic games. I just didn't like them that much. I don't care to see Sonic in Brawl, and even if he is, I doubt that will be his claim to fame. From what I understand, Sonic is all about speed and having Nintendo programming a Sonic solely for fighting just doesn't seem like it'll revive the series.

I also understand that some company is making a Sonic RPG. That doesn't sound very Sonic-ish at all. I guess it's as FreakTrigger said...Sega will do anything for money these days.

I don't think I'm going to like Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, but that game definitely has a better chance of raising Sonic's popularity.
