I thought the latest movie (with Johnny Depp) had to be one of the most disturbing films I have ever seen. Its one of those movies where the innocent mind of a child and the warped mind of an adult can walk out of the cinema having seen two totally different films because of their interpretation.

The original even though not true to the book is way better, so much more charm. It's like.. ok johnny we know youre a tripper get over yourself.

Yeah I know, I kept thinking no kids its a TRAP, get OUT NOW! :P
The original was a bit more subtle, Gene Wilder was awesome as Wonka, while Depp was still good, but a little too crazy and disturbing.

I enjoyed the older version better than I did the newer even though the newer one was said to follow the book better... I just thought the newer one with Depp in it was slightly odd....

in all honestly, Depp destroyed Willy wonka as a whole, they said the movie was based more off the book then off the orginal movie. If you would take the time and read the acutal book you'd see depps preformance was not only in fact, horrible, but so far off from the book that it might as well have been a completely differnt movie! Making willy wonka a child whos father left him over a candy dispute and pale white face and have a bad hair-du is just crappy! gene wilders willy wonka was almost on the dot of the slightly sidistic candy maker portaied in the book. But depps slighty homosexual prefromance of him was just overall the worst thing they could have done to destroy the movie. Dont get me wrong, the movie was good, for a remake, but every time i had to see johnny depps annyoing head squeel in a high picthed voice in some ungodly yelp to an computer enhanced foot tall ompa loompa, it almost makes me want to cut my eyes out of my head...
