2-Jan-2007 - Developer focusing purely on next-gen console with forthcoming action game: Digital Extremes, heavily involved in PC development in the past, has revealed that the PC version of its long-in-development action game Dark Sector is now not going to see the light of day.

The news comes in a recent interview with project lead Steve Sinclair conducted by Gamespot, in which the development honcho confirms that the moody-looking title while no longer PC-bound is still heading for a "simultaneous launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360."

In case you've missed previous coverage of the game, Dark Sector started off as a space-based romp in the stars but now has you playing in a near-future adventure where bio-weapons take center stage. It's currently scheduled for release at the end of the year.

If you think about it, someone comming out with a new consule makes more money (I think) than another PC game. Espeically if you have to buy some sort of convertor to play other types of games... or something like the XBox 360 where you can buy different faces to make it more personal. That kind of thing really sells. Too bad though... I'd rather play from my computer... *sigh*
