Even though the Tekken series debut almost a year after VF revolutionized the genre, It's still the superior game to me. Being able to control your fighters' limbs and performing moves with timed button commands was a huge step forward for the 3D fighting genre. Tekken 3 still holds up as one of the finest fighting games you'll ever play.

Tekken for me, Tekken 2 was by far the best, followed by Tekken 5 due to the combination of the original arcade games and the side-mission. Virtua Fighter just didn't do it for me

Although that would be purely because I have never played a Virtua Fighter title in my life. As has already been stated, Tekken 2 and 3 absolutely owned and were damn good fun back in the day. Probably still are now actually but I'm not about go searching for my copies just to find out. ;)

Soul Calibur wins hands down though in the actual genre. Well for me anyway.

I voted Tekken cos I had more fun and played hours of it (compared to VF) with mates, esp Tekken 3.
But that doesn't make it a better fighter than VF.

I remember loads of Tekken with my uncle when I was really young, and getting smashed, but I still loved it. :P

While I acknowledge VF is the more technical fighter, I have more fun with Tekken.

I voted tekken, but soul calibur is definatley the better of the genre
