Sweet review, I'm so pumped. Also, not that it matters to me, but alot of people are verifying that Gears of War is infact region free. Nice.

I just checked and gamespot had an offical review up, once again giving it a 9.6... Gears is shipping today, and i will be playing it tommorow. Ill be playing solo, Co-op (live and local) and ill try multiplayer (live and local). Ill give impression on the game tommorow night.

Anyone else getting a copy tommorow?

To think I was actually preparing to write a proper thread on this game :)

Definitely a lot of nice reviews coming out, although I am trying to keep away, especially video reviews, I don't want any of the game spoiled for me.

First killer app for the 360 indeed from the looks of it, this comes out just as I finish exams I believe (if it does come out on the 24th) so that works out good :D

Yep, this game definitely deserves it own thread. That's some good splittin' there Estapol. :thumbsup: It's great to hear that GoW stands up to the hype from so many reputable sources, somewhat of a relief too. Alot of americans are already proclaiming that it has the potential to achieve GOTY.

With three months off Uni and a game which finally merits the purchase of a 360 thise is certainly enticing... but I think I'll wait until the 360 drops in price...

ive played through the majority of story mode through co-op and i have to say... this game is meant to be played with a friend

also the multiplayer is FANTASTIC, so much fun!

Okay so that was lame, but whatever. What's not lame is Gears of War and while a lot of it could still be initial hype, everyone who has played the game (from what I have seen) loves it to bits. Obviously we won't know for sure until we play it ourselves but judging from what you have seen/heard so far, do you lot think the game has lived up to the hype? If yes, moreso than Halo 2?

Unnecessary questions at 5am in the morning for the win! Or lose. Whichever one. Yeah.

Well I've been playing it nonstop, and I have to say that Gears of War will do for the 360 what Halo did for the Xbox. People will probably buy 360's just for this game. It's amazing.

Although I'm lucky if I can get on Live without hearing the term "faggot" used in a match <_<

Oh, and Halo 2 sucked.

I think we tallked about this in the 360 thread, but there's some sore losers and just downright idiots out there on Live. I have no idea who or in what game I got bad feedback, but I've got 33% of my Rep as "Unsporting". Presumeably because I beat them. :rolleyes:

Yes I do believe you can play co-op over splitscreen in GoW. It's just a matter of someone signing in a second controller and away you both go.

As for the Live thing, yes there are some idiots out there. Some who even bad rep you just because they can. I have bad feedback for apparently swearing and trash talking, which I find funny considering on the night that I received said feedback I wasn't even using the mic. Yeah, nice work on that one you fools. :rolleyes:

But seriously some people just abuse the system because they can get away with it. Kinda sucks but on a positive note if entices you to play more with your friends instead which is obviously a good thing because at least then you know you will enjoy yourselves.

Good news on the splitscreen though, because that means I can play through the story with my brother, should be fun :D

But that was easy, the DS online feature is free and I already had a wireless router, so I didnt have to do anything :P

Anyway, apparantly GoW might release early in Australia, there's no "street date" so it seems when the stores get their stock in they will sell it, could happen as early as this week. This information comes from EB, so take it with a grain of salt.

I watched some of the trailers I had downloaded from the marketplace again today and of course one of them was the Gears of War promotional ad. Everytime I watch that it gets me really pumped for the game. It was just really well done and yeah, it's an amazing video. One of the best gaming videos I have ever seen, I think.

Of course watching that ad made me watch all the other videos I have from the game and yeah, hype has overtaken me. Bring this baby on next week, it will be fucking awesome.

Been away all week with friends, finally came home tonight and guess what was waiting for me...

Some people on my friends list were playing it today actually and they're Australians. I know for a fact that they didn't import it so is the game out in Australia now or something? If it is then who broke the street date? Bit early considering we were supposed to get the game on Thursday...

Guess I'm gonna have to get my order in before I miss out then.

fwimc ive beaten the game on hardcore, going through the second time round with angra and am at the final boss on INSANE. All Single player achivements hear i come!
