Hey everyone still new about here.
Just wanted your opinions. Currently working through Xenosaga II, and i must say, i'm not quite thirlled with it. Altough i am a major Xenogears/Xenosaga fan.
So i must ask. Is Xenosaga III worth getting?
I cant find it at a decent price anywere its always too expensive for me....anyway id say stick with it afterall its a very sweet series
Because a majority of us are australian (btw are you australian?), you might be better off asking somewhere else since Episode III doesn't have a release date. I've played through the first one (but had to import the NTSC version since it never got released here) and I've only gone halfway through the second, despite owning it for more than 6 months now. If you want to know how the story ends, then by all means buy it.
The first one was great, the second one's not-so-great with the overhaul change in the battle system (money is not needed anymore? wtf?!) so now simple items are impossible to get without blasting through endless enemy encounters. The level system is also screwed up. What's the point in being able to save your stats in the first game after completion when you can't use them in the second game?! And then they changed some of the voice actors (Momo and Kosmos should've stayed as default!). The introduction in episode2 was probably one of the worst RPG intros I've ever seen
From what I've read;
Pros:
Straightforward fighting system; nice soundtrack; clean visuals.
Cons:
The gameplay doesn't really innovate; the story drags.
So it's basically another average yet good RPG but isn't as innovative as the first one. Funny that, you'd think they would've got it right as the first one wasn't perfect and there were only some minor changes required. Instead, each one hides behind the shadows of it's previous successor
As a side note, nope. Not Australian. I'm from North America, and it just released recently. I pretty much have the same problems with XenosagaII myself. I was hoping that they'd change it later in the game to where you could use money. but guess not.
Anywho, i guess i'll be buying it anyway....as soon as i finally get through Xenosaga II >_<
