Title: Heroes

_MetalliX_ - October 12, 2006 02:40 PM (GMT)
Forget Jericho and all these other Lost-wannabes, if US viewers are anything to go by then the next big show is Heroes. According to TV.com, this show ranks third only to Prison Break and Lost. Think of it like a prequel to every super hero you have ever known, and some you don't with a few mysteries and conspiracies thrown in for good measure.

I've seen the first 3 episodes and whilst they have been a little slow, they are certainly interesting. Expect to see one of the local channels pick it up in the near future if they know whats good for them.

*****SPOILER*****

Holy crap, in the last moments of the third episode, the girl who can't die was knocked unconscious, and when she wakes up she has been dissected on a coroner's table!

*****END SPOILER*****

Resident-Seven - October 13, 2006 02:52 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I've got the first 3 eps too. God that cheerleader has some funny moments. :D

NismoR34 - October 14, 2006 06:53 PM (GMT)
I forgot all about Jericho. Well I didn't as Ten advertised it but I did forget to watch the show. Oh well, DVDs for that one then.

As for this one, well it is the first I have heard about it but if you both think it is interesting I shall give it a go too when it hits our shores. :)

Resident-Seven - October 14, 2006 11:40 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah, I had a good laugh when the cheerlead got knocked to the ground by a footballer. I won't tell you what happened, but I found it quite funny. :P

Shadow Knight - October 15, 2006 08:55 AM (GMT)
Interview with creator Tim Kring by Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof.

Seems interesting, but i think i'll hold til one of the Australian networks pick it up.

Squato - October 16, 2006 07:17 PM (GMT)
Yeah, a few wanks I know love this show. They feel it is a good thing (not that the idea is new).

_MetalliX_ - October 20, 2006 09:45 AM (GMT)
According to TV.com, Heroes has just hit the top spot beating the likes of Lost and Prison Break.

I thought that was just based on user reviews and not nielsen ratings etc. (based on the latest episode?) I don't know, but that's what i thought anyway. In any case, i guess that's some sort of achievement. >_>

Resident-Seven - October 21, 2006 02:19 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it isn't based on ratings.

_MetalliX_ - October 21, 2006 02:23 AM (GMT)
It's based on user feedback, so if anything it would be more of an achievement in that it is rated by people's opinion of the show rather than just the number of people watching it.

thebigm - October 27, 2006 12:46 PM (GMT)
Just watched the first episode today and it was fairly interesting, although it will still take a while for me to catch up to the latest episode.

D43M0N - October 27, 2006 12:50 PM (GMT)
Watching Episode 1 now.

thebigm - October 30, 2006 11:51 PM (GMT)
Watched Episode 2, and definitely a show that I will be keeping up with. Love the ending bit where:

*****SPOILER*****
The blink / teleport Japanese dude saw the the destruction of the City and went back in time.

*****END SPOILER*****

Should be watching episode 3 this afternoon, so I can finally read what the spoiler is in the first post :)

D43M0N - October 31, 2006 12:29 AM (GMT)
I didn't finish ep 1.

I really should watch it on today, because I'm "sick" and all, but I really want to watch the Exorcist instead.

dave_cool31 - October 31, 2006 05:59 AM (GMT)
I've watched up to episode five - I want to download ep 6 but I've been shaped to 64k - fortunately it resets tomorrow, hopefully I'll watch ep 6 soon. I think this show's crazy awesome - Hiro's a funny guy "I did it!"

Wow, that was definitely a cool moment, also surprised (glad) to see a large amount of gore in the shows, which is a welcome change :D

I personally don't take reviews seriously when it comes to TV shows, and choose to watch something that I like instead.

Just watched episode 4 and 5 today and liking the way how events are unfolding, along with character development. Also looks like we're stuck with the current set of powers, but that's a good thing imo.

_MetalliX_ - November 29, 2006 10:18 AM (GMT)
The latest episode is simply phenomenal...

***SPOILERS***

..the way they back track into the past to explain much of their universe was executed with perfection, and so much of what we have come to see in previous episodes was obviously carefully crafted to work in harmony with this look into the past. There is not as much action as I may like, but the character development and mystery more than makes up for it.

Yep, that was very nicely done.

Also one more episode this year then no more for a while :(

_MetalliX_ - December 2, 2006 05:37 AM (GMT)
As I predicted, this show will be coming to 7 next year.

thebigm - December 5, 2006 08:58 AM (GMT)
Holy F*** damn Episode 11... that was awesome.

50 days till next episode.
:(

Recap / impressions later.

dave_cool31 - December 5, 2006 12:04 PM (GMT)
womg, I just watched Episode 11, hot zounds, this show's awesome. Too bad the season's over...

*SPOILER/question*
I didn't really understand why Peter was captain exploding man at the end of the episode, also I'm trying to figure out whether Claire's dad is good or bad, what with the stealing people's memories and all - such cliffhangerage!
*/SPOILER*

_MetalliX_ - December 6, 2006 09:15 AM (GMT)
***SPOILERS***

I think Peter explodes because he is overloaded. His power is to temporarily harness other peoples powers whilst they are nearby, with all those Heroes surrounding him he may have 'short-circuited'.

My first impression of Claire's Dad is that he was evil, so much so that initially I didn't even realise that Claire's Dad and the antagonist were one in the same.

dave_cool31 - December 6, 2006 10:46 AM (GMT)
*SPOILER?*

yeh, I dunno, I don't reckon it would be overloading causing explosion, cos they're all running away from him and like "why?" sort of thing... I'm so good at using words :P

thebigm - January 18, 2007 11:11 PM (GMT)
Bump for people like Nismo, Channel 7 have Heroes on Wednesdays, starting the week following the next, (31st?).

NismoR34 - January 19, 2007 06:25 PM (GMT)
8:30pm timeslot, I assume?

If so, then where the fark will Prison Break go?

quartz_donkey - January 21, 2007 07:32 AM (GMT)
Who cares, nah just kidding, I did see an add for Prison Break so are at least planning on showing it sometime soon. Heroes with adds huh we'll see I guess.

Yep it's taking the 8:30 timeslot and Prison Break moves back to 9:30/40.

Heroes is waaay better anyway. >_> Watched the first 11 episodes and episode 12 is today, gg. It's no Lost but it's very awesome all the same.

thebigm - January 23, 2007 05:32 AM (GMT)
Ep 12 is out... still got a few days till I can watch it though :(

_MetalliX_ - January 24, 2007 10:10 AM (GMT)
Episode 12, whilst slow was still quite interesting. Although I think they are going to need to pick up the pace to keep things going as usually I found myself surfing the net with Heroes playing in the background.

thebigm - January 24, 2007 11:46 AM (GMT)
Whilst I didn't quite find myself surfing the net in the background, I did watch Heroes (earlier than I thought I would be as well). Whilst it was good to have it back, it seems like it's pace has been slowed down, to make way for more seasons of the show.

you must really be addicted to the net to be surfing while trying to watch a TV show... But yeh anyway I just saw the first episode of season 2, and I agree it was a bit slower but still a good episode, nonetheless...

Shadow Knight - January 25, 2007 01:46 AM (GMT)
It's still Season 1... :P

BTW Episode 12 was awesome.

NismoR34 - January 26, 2007 07:00 PM (GMT)
I get to (finally) watch this show in 5 days.

Spam, perhaps. But I'm DAMN excited about the idea.

Machiavelli - January 31, 2007 04:01 AM (GMT)
Jesus Nismo, your spamming is outta control buddy! :P

During the Australian Open I got absolutely bombarded with promos and ads for this show. Considering giving it a watch tonight, should be good, right?

Episode 13 is out as well, yesterday I believe, but haven't watched it yet.

By the sounds of the latest episode I may be right!

Machiavelli - January 31, 2007 01:28 PM (GMT)
Although it was a bit convoluted, I loved it nonetheless and can definitely see myself tuning in every week as it is quite intriguing so far. :) The shot of the apocalyptic painting at the end was so cool.

NismoR34 - January 31, 2007 05:53 PM (GMT)
^ I'll second that. Infact all of those paintings were fricken awesome.

As for the show, well I definitely enjoyed it. Obviously being the first episode meant that it was more of an introduction than anything, but what was in the first episode was decent enough and has made me want to continue watching into the second episode and beyond.

Plus, the two blondes were hot. That's reason enough alone for me. ;)
