Google are getting scary, they're the juggernaught bitch!

So will they kill off Google Video or YouTube now? Or perhaps continue to operate both.

I'd say they'll merge but keep "youtube" because it's considerably bigger and more well known than google video. we may see some actual advertising on the tube now :(

Well they have ads on YouTube now, though they are not so in your face!

Google ads aren't too bad. They're always just text links anyway aren't they? Ads that really get on my nerves are ones where you're forced to watch a commercial/movie trailer before you can watch the video/right click itself (like IGN). NO I DO NOT WANT TO BUY A PAIR OF NIKES! LEAVE ME ALONE!

Yeah, Google ads arent too bad. I hate those movie ads on IGN when you want to download some game footage and you have to wait for the stupid ad to load!!

Bit off the topic but a good friend of mine is the director of software engineering at google and recently launched the new google reader (he was in charge of the task). They had a few problems in the lead up to the launch and he worked 44 hours straight to launch it. This guy also wrote the radar jamming software for the stealth bomber when he was 17. People who work at google are all very clever and completely crazy.

I saw most of it and yes, it was quite an interesting thing to watch. For a kid to get a show on MTV after doing some Youtube videos - that's nuts.
