Gah, 80x80 is too small. XD I dunno if anyone else has mentioned this, but I think you all should set the avatar size restrictions higher, about 150x150 for example. 150x150 isn't too big, but it allows for avatars (like mine) that look better at a larger size, or are hard to see when they are smaller. 150x150 (or something close to that) won't stretch the left side of the posts, either. ^^

You know you should be lucky we've got 80x80. Another forum I visit has restrictions of 64x64.
If you want to make it look bigger, lower your screen resolution :P
I think 80x80 is fine, but I wouldn't mind if we went to 100x100. Anything bigger than 100 is too distracting imo.
Ghosty boy, in your case I'd crop the image to fit more in the 80x80 space.
80x80 is fine for me. 100x100 is the largest it can be before it gets annoying. Now I've been to forums with no limit on avatar or sig sizes and they are terrible to use.
