I've always enjoyed the adventures of subtle-humour George Stobbart and his sexy french investigative reporter Nico and once again another puzzle sequel is upon us. This PC exclusive title is the 2nd game utilising the 3D engine but thankfully Revolution Studios has advanced from the "crate-moving" puzzle scenario. Remember Broken Sword 3?
How do I get past those guards? Oh look, some clumsy oaf has left some crates nearby an open window!
On no! Somebody's trapped in a burning shed! He's doomed! Wait, what's that? Are those crates I can see located nearby?! We're saved!
Ye gods! A fire-breathing dragon! Have a crate full of dynamite ya scurvy beast! Hya!Unfortunately despite being released a few years later from the previous game, little has changed in the graphics department. You're forgiven if you mistook this as an expansion pack with a few little subtle differences. However you're not forgiven if you think this'll be a walk in the park like the last game. This is without doubt the hardest (from what I've heard) game out of the entire series, with very subtle clues (or nothing) about what you're supposed to do and having the answer doesn't make much sense either as you'll yell out "HOW THE HELL WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT?!" on more than one occasion. A brain-taxing game indeed and an almost impossible accomplishment for the younger generation without a GameFAQ guide at hand. Another disappointment is that there have been reports of the game being incompatible with the latest 3D cards. Issues resort from choppy framerates to refusal to play altogether and the only known answer is to update to
older video card drivers as there's currently no patch in site from Revolution
On the better news scale, the dubbers are heaps more believable making an almost cinematic experience. And the interface option has been upgraded (or should I say downgraded) too. Gone is the clumsy WASD movement and weird inventory keys. Now we're back to the good olde' point'n'click genre utilising the mouse and cursor to uhh...point'n'click. Whether it be looking around, picking up something or opening a door. Then of course for long-term Broken Sword fans there's previous supporting characters remaining faithful to the original.
So who else has picked this up? I'm getting my copy this weekend. RRP is $69.95 and the game's been released since the 21st September. Before I go, what good would a thread be without some screenshots to get people interested?

In case you hadn't noticed after the 3rd screenshot, I typed those in myself :P
